Fort Mason wasn't anything entirely too special, but there was lots of parking away from the street, and it's right next to the ocean!

Fort Mason is nestled on a small hill and stretches down to the water. They've repurposed the old barracks down by the water into an artsy area. Up on the hill, the Fort, which still has people living in the quarters, covers a relatively small...More

Visited the Art Market and was impressed that they kept the old For Mason Army Barracks and were able to create an interesting art space within its plain walls. Beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay. It is interesting to visit for historical purposes.

I have driven past this area before but have never entered the site. Today I was brought here for a conference reception at the General's Residence. Great historical site, and excellent views of Alcatraz and Fisherman's Wharf. Well worth a visit

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.
