This malecon is worth to walk it all !, starting at the beautiful market, where is a museum slash market. Right at the main entrance there’s pictures of the history of the building and how it was restored. Inside you’ll find lots of food and...More

Took a charter bus from Fairmont Hotel to this pier for a Regent cruise leaving for Alaska. They drop you off on a very busy main street (Embarcadero) where you have to tote your bags to a nearby porter base and then enter the terminal...More

This was a nice area to walk; not as crowded as it was up at Fisherman's Wharf. Good views of the Bay Bridge and views of boats and ships in the distance.

Walk through the ferry building, fresh farmers market and food stores. And on the other side, great views of a bridge, some boats/ferries and a great place to just sit. There's also a few restaurants that allow you to sit outside with heaters.

This is a great area to experience the views: Oakland Bay Bridge, the waterfront, the shipping that makes port calls at San Francisco. It is a nice walk from China Basin (AT&T Park) northward towards Fisherman’s wharf. There are a lot of shops and restaurants...More

We travelled by tram to see the cityscape and Oakland Bay bridge from this vantagepoint. Heading out on Pier 1, you get a great view, highly recommended.

We really enjoyed watching the ships and the more business minded environment here compared to the more touristy areas of piers with a boardwalk feel. It's a short walk to downtown and there are plenty of shops and dining with easy and plentiful parking choices.

I assume you are coming in on a cruise ship, that will dock just east of pier 39. So it would be no more than 5 miles to the Visitor Center on the south end of the bridge.
