I walked down the 119 mossy steps but didn't get in as I was in a hurry. It is definitely beautiful but NOT for the faint of heart or breathing challenged. Very dangerous climb down and a HIKE back up. It is beautiful, and the if you can make it, go check it out.

Funny when I lived on Saipan in the late 70s I had no problem going up and down the steep stair leading to and from the Grotto. Last trip it was still no problem going DOWN the steps. The Grotto is a stunningly beautiful cave with bright blue water. You'll find lots of divers in it heading through an underwater... More

ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT!!! Highly recommended if you are fit enough to climb stairs WITH FULL DIVE EQUIPMENT. But worth it. Especially if you are an experienced diver, I think you would be able to appreciate it a little more as it is a cave diving. Go with Speedy Tertle if you are Russian or an English speaker :)

Too many people here. The bright blue light is beautiful, but not that amazing as I expected. If you really want to visit, go in the morning rather than afternoon.

If you on Saipan you must go see the Grotto. Diving the Grotto is the best way to experience the site.

After a hilly and windy drive, from the south west of the island my brother and I arrived at The Grotto. We first went to the view point at the top and looked down upon it, but all we could see was the rock face and a little pool of water. Some persuasion from my brother managed to convince me... More

Dove the Grotto with Speedy Turtle and had a excellent time. Competent dive guide, beyond competent in fact. Knew the place inside and out, fun, and every safety precaution which could be taken was. The hike wasn't that bad and the dive is well worth it. Underwater camera is a must. Wish there were less awkward tourists on the stairs... More

The surf has to be low but this place is great otherwise. Don't pay anyone to go here. It's free (just go rent a snorkel from Garapan for like 7 bucks for the day). And if Amir is working as the lifeguard, he's totally chill. There is no reason to go here if the surf is high--it's dangerous and visibility... More

This place is awesome, but requires a lot of leg strength to go down and back up the like 1,000 steps, lol But once you down in the cave and in the water it is amazing! for sure a must see and do place for Saipan. If your a diver, its even more fun as you explore through the cave... More
