This is one of the more unique museums I've seen in that it's more showcasing the building itself than displaying relics and the like. The placards describe how historic buildings, like this one, are preserved and how they change over time. It's kind of neat....More

Along Shenandoah street, there are many old but regular looking buildings. Nearly all have historical value whether they be fashioned after old shops or houses or are museum-like with info displays. This was a fun one to stumble over - raw history in the dirt...More

Small museum but it was cool to see the layers of history through the foundations of the building and how it had changed over 200 years.

We found this museum on the way out of Harper's Ferry. It was interesting to see the inside and how homes were made back then and over time. It’s small but definitely worth a walk through if you’re in Harper's Ferry.

I grew up inside and under old houses, but this was a highly informative look at how the restoration process works as well as the construction that went into these buildings.

Its not exciting or a must see. But it is part of the whole package. This ia an example you see throught the world, we cover up and build over our past.

There were many interesting plaque and other sources of information about the site. Archaeology sites are not always everyone's cup of tea, but it is well worth spending a few minutes at this one.

Directly across from the NPS lower town office, this building has the boards stripped away. Markers tell of how restoration works and gives clues to the building's past. another great stop while in HF.
