Driving by spotted this place to stretch our legs. Felt like a 1950's roadside stop. Retro like. No plan to take tour but read info and got interested. Said what to heck lets go for it. A little pricey for a 12 minute tour but...More

While not a must see attraction it is a fun stop. We didn't tour the actual home but walked around the grounds and visited the Trading Post. They have a small zoo but we didn't go.

We were excited to see this 'home in the rock', but we were disappointed because the tour was extremely short, led by a lady who said she actually worked at their zoo and didn't know too much about the house. No pictures were allowed inside....More

Opened many decades ago as a diner and expanded into a 5000 sq ft home and gift shop. Unique. Good break from driving 191.

We found this attraction on Roadside America. It is worth a stop. We took the short tour which was very informative. I would guess we spent about 45 minutes here. The work by the owner is impressive. There is cost to the tour.

The fact that the graffiti was done in the 1950's does not excuse the fact that it's an abomination in such an otherwise beautiful area. The crass exploitation this site employs is a shame. Disgusting commercialism at its worst.

We gave in to the kids and took the tour. When they left, they expressed their disappointment. It cost far too much, included far too little explanation, didn't take enough time, and the presentation sounded like "blah, blah, blah." In short, spend your money on...More

You will not believe how one man could carve a 5,000 square ft. home out of the base of a sandstone mountain. It is fully functional with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room and dining room. In the winter the temperature remains at 65 degrees...More
