This is my second time going on a horseback ride like this, and it was very different from my first experience (near Steamboat Springs). If you want to use a horse as your vehicle on which to explore the desert, following a guide, then this is the experience for you. If you want to control your horse, choose your route... More

Thanks for your lengthy review of Moab Horses. You have provided some helpful information for future guests! It is true that our standard small group rides (8 or fewer) are in a line behind a guide for the safety of riders. Guests wishing for more adventure can book private rides with us as long as they have adequate equestrian experience... More

An amazing experience in jawdrapping landscapes. This is a must-do and must-see of Moab. The staff is nice and full of entertaining stories. The horses are easy to ride even for beginners. I strongly recommend this ranch for a the most western movie experience I've ever had

We loved our horseback riding tour. The guide was great the horses were great and it was just beautiful. We had a lot of fun and we plan to do it again the next time we're back in Moab. This was definitely worth the time and the money.

Thanks for visiting us! You were smart to book your Moab adventures in February before it gets super busy. The winter months can be the best time to explore our deserts. More

We had a group of about 10 people ride during Thanksgiving week this past November. A word to describe our experience: wow!! The scenery was absolutely beautiful. The horses did a great job- I ended up getting a grumpy horse, but as I have experience with horses, I know they can be temperamental. We got to ride for 2.5 hours.... More

Thanks so much for visiting us! Sorry you got a grump. Next time, ask the wrangler to trade horses with him or her. That might change that horse's attitude! More

This was worth every penny, every minute in the saddle. Even for our one never been on a horse relative. The horses are well cared for and were as responsive as these type of horses can be. We rode to the Colorado River where the horses waded in and were able wet their whistles. The scenery was great and what... More

Hauer Ranch is well maintained and the animals appeared healthy and tack was in good working condition. Our guide, Charlie, was knowledgeable, delightfully friendly and super patient with our 6 year old daughter. I highly recommend this group if you plan to go horseback riding in Moab. The scenery along the trail will stay with me forever.

I have been riding horses for most of my life and have always wanted to ride a mule. When I found the opportunity with Moab Horses, I jumped at the chance! I was not disappointed! John Hauer is a superb trail guide. He gave me, and my friend, the best ride we could have ever hoped for. The information he... More

While in Moab we wanted to go horseback riding. We found a couple of places that did trail riding but we chose Moab horses. The reason we did is I am a bigger guy 6' 230lbs and this was the only ranch we found that could accommodate me(the others had a 220lb weight limit). The ride was spectacular. Very scenic... More

Not all guides a people-persons, but our guide, Heather, certainly was. She told us about the natural features of the area, as well as which movies were filmed on the land, plus some of the history of Moab. The horses and mules were generally well-behaved (our group ranged in age from 13-46). I thought the price was great ($75 for... More
