Love the River Arts District. Lots of little places to pop in and shop. Also, some really good places to eat. Some part of the RAD have really cool street art and graffiti. Definitely one of my neighborhoods in Asheville.

Full of artist and artisan studios and galleries - plus an awesome brewery. Definitely should not be missed.

Can't think of a time we had quests and didn't go here. The shops and galleries from one end to the other provide a cornucopia of pottery, jewelry, textile, glass, metal ceramic and all types of art - water color, pastel, oil, and then some....More

We visited many galleries in one afternoon and enjoyed watching relatives blow their own glass! It was a remarkable experience.

We have visited this area before. The art was almost all modern and eclectic and the River galleries spread over a considerable distance. Unless you need a $10,000 piece of modern wall art don't bother top go there.

There are a variety of styles and mediums here...painting, pottery, jewelry, textiles. My husband bought a small clay vase. I think the only negative would be the prices, which generally seemed on the high side.

Too much pottery - some of it is pretty darn ugly. Bldgs. are waaay too spread out but with traffic and parking forget about driving from one to another. Much is overpriced for what you get (in my opinion). I liked going to different SHOPS...More

We didn't get here till our last day. Would have liked to spend more time here. Art is more modern. Also jewelry, porcelain, pottery, and wood working. Artists are working here so very interesting. But leave yourself enough time to stroll and enjoy the place.

The this district but difficult to navigate. Warehouses are spread out and not marked well. I am not sure we saw all of the artist shops. Bought some nice ceramics and French impressionist art

I think Saturdays are great times to visit. There are more people so parking is a greater challenge, but we visited on a Saturday and had a great time.
