Nice guide to the historical attractions of the city passing many exotic and lovable shops, including 3 (in words three) bookstores, completely different but all very exciting. Also minerals from Madagaskar and hip clothing.

The self-guided walk through downtown Asheville is well-marked, with interesting historical and artistic explanations of the town's history and culture. Good for visitors and locals taking a stay-cation.

This is a very nice walking trail in the city, with statues and small parks around. Very often there are activities going on with singers, dancers or musicians.

This 1.7 mile, 30-site self-guided tour is a great way for people to learn the history and culture of Asheville on a beautiful day. On a wet or blustery day, only a die-hard history or architecture buff would enjoy it. Each stop has a bronze plaque explaining the significance of the site and appropriate whimsical sculpture, created by UNC-Asheville art... More

I like urban walks, and this was a good one. I didn't know how many authors emanated from here, but was glad to see them honored on this trail. I love a good safe, city stroll. Didn't care for the blankety-blank hippies, but whatever. patchouli.

We followed the Urban Trail and got a bit lost, but the sculptures that we found were fun. Several of them are on the ground and the map doesn't indicate what side of the street they are on, but it was a cute way to walk around downtown and see some of the history. I did this with 3 children.... More

We walked the trail as something to do one night. Not sure the trail was anything special, but it did give us a nice path to take around town for an evening.

We printed the map for the Urban Trail from the Internet and we walked the trail and found every one of the stops. It was a fun way to go through the downtown and to get a good experience of the history of Asheville.

A fun way to get to know the town. Following the trail directions we walked from one spot to another with time to stop in stores, rest on benches, and sample treats [don't miss the chocolate stores]. There a few spots were we never did find the bronze or we discovered a few not exactly where the map indicated.

We thought at first it was going to be a little lame but the family enjoyed finding all of items on the list. It's a 1.7 mile round trip and got to see the downtown area.
