The handcrafted items here are stunning. There is a wide variety of artwork -- jewelry, scarfs, bowls, furniture, and more. All of it is high-end but the prices are reasonable because this is a cooperative in which all the artists participate, so the markup is not as high as in other galleries. In fact, the artists themselves work in the... More

This was one of our favorite galleries in Asheville. The collection was appealing; the space relaxing. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I asked if I could photograph a few pieces for my sister (who is a potter), not only did the gentleman say yes, he started up a conversation about the art and helped stage the pieces for... After three years of dreaming of the amazing woodwork of David Scott, we came to Ariel to pick up the table he'd made especially for us. And amazingly beautiful it certainly was. What a great gallery, with such talented artists. We also bought two gorgeous pieces by Steve Noggle. Love it and love the vibe there. Hope to be back... More

Ariel is a fine gallery, though the quality of the art is not up to the level of Blue Spiral1(up the street). Having said that, there is much to like at Ariel, and prices are substantially lower than Blue Spiral1.

This collection of artists do wonderful work, well executed and meaningful designs. I met an artist I had admired for 30 years, Jane Peiser. Her work is very detailed and extremely interesting and well done. All the art was inspiring, both the functional and other.

The quality of pottery, glass,, wood and fiber as well as jewelry are excellent and unique. These are all top notch artists in their fields. I particularly loved the beautiful glazed raku vessels by Weaverville artist, Steven Forbes deSoule! One of a kind pieces which are breathtaking! He is such a talented artist in his field formulating incredible glazes for... More

Ariel is, in my opinion, the absolutely best small gallery in Asheville, especially one which exhibits only the work of Asheville-area artists. It's a co-op, meaning the "salespeople" are all artists whose work is being exhibited, so they are especially knowledgeable; they also aren't the slightest bit pushy, and you can feel very comfortable conversing with them. Ariel is the... More

This gallery was a delight as it is a coop gallery and all of the artists that participate are at the top of their game. Try not to miss this one. It is across the street from the Blue Spiral, I think. Make sure you stop in.

Glass, wood, pottery.....a great selection of objects on the main drag downtown Asheville. Great place to take home some artistic goodies.

Ariel is one of the co-op galleries in the Asheville area. (That means the artists whose work is shown each participate by also staffing the gallery.) There is no work here that could even be considered mediocre; it's all excellent. A wide variety of mediums are represented. Of particular note are the colored porcelain pieces by Jane Peiser, an artist... More
