Located alongside the Highland Brewery (though not related), this whiskey distillery is a great place to visit when you're in Asheville, NC. Ken does a nice job conducting the tour and the product is excellent. Try the cinnamon induced whiskey - great for after dinner sipping.

I have attended wine and beer tastings, but this was my first distillery tour. We learned a brief history of the company, then took a tour of the distillery. Once that was over, we learned about the types of moonshine and whiskey they produce, as well as the type of corn they prefer. Then we got to taste. I had... More

Very happy with the tour and tastings offered here. Although the tour was brief, it was informative. Loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the food trucks.

We took the 15 minute tour so we could try some of the whiskey before purchasing. It was fun and very informational. The tour guide was funny and knew the answers to questions. There are a few amazing whiskeys there- but you can only buy one! It's well worth the trip.

Troy and Sons is a pretty cool place. We took the 6:00 tour of the distillery and learned about the process of making moon shine. We spent about a half hour on the tour and then were able to do some tastings. They make a quite tastey product. We were there on the first day they were allowed to sell... More

Formerly Troy & Sons, Asheville Distilling Co. is a great place to try something new. Their small batch corn whiskey is smooth and will soon have mass appeal. I tried a new cinnamon and honey variety that is full of the good and skips the harsh bite most whiskey brings. They also offer tours, tastings, and great gifts to take... More

Troy's son gave us a great tour. There was tasting of the product after the tour. North Carolina law does not allow you to buy product at the Distillery which was disappointing, but at least now we know which of the products we like.

My wife and I had heard from a friend about this place. My family has its own roots in moonshine. This place turns out mighty fine corn liquor. Best legal shine I've ever had. By far. Can't buy it at the distillery. ABC store only.

We arrived a few minutes before the 5pm tour was to start (after beers at Highland Brewing Company) expecting to find a crowd but were surprised to find that we were the only ones for the tour. Patrick did a great job of walking us through their process and showing us the background of their operation. The tasting was excellent,... More

The tour was short and sweet but provided all of the necessary information on distilling some fabulous mooshine. The tasting afterwards was hands-down the best part! ;)
