The Magnetic Theatre is dedicated to original works. Operating year-round, we produce an incredible variety of world premieres, from farce to wild experiment, poetic drama to Broadway-style musical comedy, and historical material to sketch comedy. We share our stage with like-minded troupes and have recently initiated our “Masters Series,” designed to reflect the roots of the shows we create.

We attended the Super Happy Telethon benefiting Arms Around ASD and it was a hoot. I admit I was a tad shocked at the level of talent in our beautiful mountain enclave. The show was hilarious and the guys and gals on the stage could...More

You know that it is a great comedy when two different people in separate conversations say that they laughed until they pee'd their pants! This annual Christmas Theatre has become a do not miss. The story builds off of previous years shows and features local...More

Plenty of shockingly relevant insight in 'Uranium 235'. Loved Truman's exploration of his 'non-choices' in dealing with Japan with Clio, the muse of history. Juxtaposed with the blatant propaganda song and dance of the day, my own moral compass had a spin. So glad I...More

Saw “the Midnight Area” here. Fun show for the Halloween season. Great small space for an intimate show.

Saw the play "Better Strangers" last week. It was a very interesting, complex plot which was very well acted and directly.

We enjoyed "Better Strangers" recently--a fine play. Newcomer Emily tynan McDaniel is a wonderful actor. Glad to see good drama in Asheville.

Saw Six Knots last weekend and it was excellent. Difficult for a small theater company to take on an original play but The Magnetic Theater did it with great energy and professionalism. The acting was good and the set was well designed.
