Does not look like a Catholic church and originally, it wasn't. No stained glass windows, but a few statues. The outside red brick is somewhat pretty. Overall, not worth a separate trip, but if you are in the North End, walking down Hanover street, take a quick look inside.

First it is an active Catholic Church so me take off your hats! Neat Bullfinch church very plainly decorated but a nice haven after bustling around Hanover street all morning. Stop by for a visit and relax a bit.

While this simple church, steps from the Old North Church, isn't the attraction of its neighbor, it was interesting to stumble upon, and has a historic legacy of its own. Two things intrigued me enough to enter: a plaque commemorating the execution of Goodwife Ann Glover, an elderly Catholic Irishwoman hung as a witch during the Salem Witch trails and... More

We walked in the North End and ended up running into that nice red bricks church. The outside is very pretty but the inside very simple. Nothing very intriguing in there then it's a cute quaint and quiet church.

This is now a Roman Catholic church but was not always so. The church, designed by Charles Bulfinch, was built in 1804. It was later restored in 1964. Rose Kennedy, mother of JFK, was baptized here in 1890. Her funeral was held here in 1995. If you are following the Freedom Trail, you will easily come across this church in... More

Stepped into St Stephen's during our trip on the Freedom Trail. I believe Rose Kennedy was baptized here.

While my son Joe & I were in Boston for the weekend, we needed to attend mass for our Sunday obligation. On Saturday, we were in the North End of Boston planning to see Paul Reveres's house and then eating dinner at Trattoria il Panino, so we were very thankful, to learn that there was a Catholic Church directly across... While not one of the official sites along the Freedom Trail, this is a place worth a short visit. It was formerly called the New North Church and designed by the great Charles Bulfinch, who was responsible for so many places in the city in the early 1800s. St Stephen's is the only Bulfinch CHURCH that survives, so you'll want... More

Walking along the Freedom Trail, you find this church. It is absolutely worth visiting. A bright and elegant church room welcomes you, and there is a terrific atmosphere. This is were Rose Kennedy were baptisted and were her funeral ceremony took place. A place of peace and comfort.

Had a few minutes to kill waiting on a friend for dinner, meandering past Paul Revere house and then his statue in the park. I turned around and saw this beautiful church with its doors open. I read the Rose Kennedy plaque and my interest was piqued. I made a short visit. Beautiful inside definitely shows its colonial era Protestant... More
