This National Park consists of 34 small islands just off shore in Boston Harbor. The most popular, George's Island, is home to Fort Warren, a Civil War Landmark that housed Confederate prisoners. Visitors to the 12 islands open for exploration can camp, kayak, tour lighthouses, ride harbor ferries, hike and swim.

We took the ferry out to the Harbor Islands to visit the historic fort. The cruise lasts about 45 minutes each way. The views of the Boston skyline are fantastic. Be sure to spend enough time to see the visitor center and the Civil-War era...More

Great place we had the lobster bake they offer. tons of lobster and great chowder with all the extras. We took their boat out there and played softball, Volleyball and explored the Island.

Boston is an incredible city in itself. This is a must and a lovely retreat outside of the city. Its beautiful and worth the cost! It will be an incredibly relaxing day for you!

Maybe. Best to check with the National Parks service Boston area. Know that there is a fun, spooky Halloween event on the island with the fortress very soon.

But do take advantage of the ferry to Charlestown to see old Ironsides and get a view of Boston Harbor
