Explore, read the information, and observe. Try to get into the harbor and observe the islands. They are visible from theSalem ferry.

George's Island and Fort Warren are a must see. The fort is in remarkable condition and it seems like you are a world away from Boston. I have been in the area my entire life and I am amazed that I am only now discovering...More

Surprisingly approximately 34 islands to view. Went on the 5pm ferry from long wharf which was ideal on a lovely sunny evening. Tour guide was informative. Great to see Boston from the sea. Definitely recommend this trip.

Maybe. Best to check with the National Parks service Boston area. Know that there is a fun, spooky Halloween event on the island with the fortress very soon.
