So the Eagle does still exist! It's quite low key, with just a stone eagle above the door (no sign). It is most definitely a gay bar so be sure you go with that in mind (reference to earlier reviews). It was dead for a Saturday night, which was disappointing. The bar tender chatted to us and we stayed for... More

A long walk in the cold and it looks like the place does not exist anymore, we could not find it. At the given address, there is a huge, clean lobby that looks like an art gallery.

Visiting Boston from Uk we went to The Eagle. The drinks are very reasonably priced and Jack the bartender was great entertainment. Would recommend.

We came here and we were the only customers on a Sunday evening in this hole in the wall. The bartender will chat with you with a bit of attitude. There is only a men's restroom. Unpretentious, down to earth, no nonsense, not a trendy place.

My boyfriend and I went to The Eagle, full well knowing it was a gay bar, and as we live very close, we were excited to meet some of the local men and women, especially as we both have many gay friends. Our entrance in was fine, we ordered beer, played some pool, and sat for a while. We received... More

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
