Couldn't figure out where to enter as all were roped off. So last resort call on the phone. Ben answered and despite being closed he allowed us to do a walk through this stunning church. We came to see the Tiffany windows and were amazed. The religous themes were dazzling with LCT glass. You could also see some of the... More

The congregation identified with both the PCUSA and the UCC (well, the urban congregation attracted congregants who identified largely or mostly with one or the other). I was interested to hear that a previous 'minister' was 'trying to be a vegetarian' for humane reasons of conscience. That interested me.

A stone's throw away from Boston Gardens is a gem of a church .... looks more like a cathedral to me. It's stone tower/ steeple soars high in the very heart of Boston and demands to be explored. Although its cornerstone was laid in 1865, in the period 1894-1896 the sanctuary was completely redecorated by the Tiffany Glass & Decorating... More

Visit on a sunny day and you will be treated to a church full of lovely windows that will take your breath away. Tiffany also designed the interior color scheme and decoration, now designated as a National Historic Landmark. Don't miss the angels that make up the chandelier, front and center--my favorite. Tours are given daily in season; donations accepted.... More

The light streaming through this beautiful collection of Tiffany-glass windows is unforgettable. There is also intriguing information in printed handouts, both about the technical and historical artistry and also the Social Gospel context for commissioning these windows from Tiffany.

We had a difficult time finding an entrance to this dark sombre church but fortunately a kind gentleman in the back side office, directed us up some hidden stairs to find our way into a plain church interior with the most beautiful glowing stain glass windows I have ever seen! Each window on the lower floor and upper balcony revealed... More

If you like stained glass make this a must do in Boston. There is no charge but donations are welcome. To preserve this little corner of Boston please be generous. The volunteer was helpful and we discussed the glass in the church, thank you for your help.

Only became aware of this church as I saw the windows as I was walking down Newberry street. The sanctuary was completely redecorated by Tiffany in 1890s - just amazing including 42 stained glass windows and a 12ft glass lantern

This church is gorgeous. It was decorated by Tiffany & Co. and is filled with Tiffany glass windows. Absolutely gorgeous, and well worth the $4 admission price to see.

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
