Home to two World's Fairs in the early 1900s, Balboa Park not only is San Diego's main park, but contains adventures and exhibitions within itself. You'll need at least a week to see it all, given that there are nearly 20 museums, two theaters, a...More

We visited the Science museum, History museum, and the Botanical gardens. Wasn't impressed with the Science museum, the major exhibit was video games. We enjoyed the History museum and the Botanical gardens were fantastic.

We wish we had more time when we were time... the park is huge with many museums within walking distance. We only had time to visit the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Visitor Center, the Timken and walked around... it's very beautiful.

A great place to hang out, lots to do from museums, walkways, concerts. Lush gardens with fantastic trees, cacti. Walk along Laurel st. to El Prado, even Laurel st. contains some nice buildings, then walk along the bridge into the park. Very pretty, peaceful.

Balboa Park is beautiful. The El Prado is worth the walk, with beautiful architecture all around, the lily pond and arboretum (free) are great and a good place for lunch (ex: Panama 66).
