We were looking for a dog park, and the 8 freeway was closed. It took us a long time to get to the wrong park, but Balboa Park is magnificent since I was there 28 years ago.

Just arrived from UK to San Diego and what a delight it was to visit Balboa Park. A fabulous open space filled with so much interest, we even brought back a few momentos from the small gift shop.

I would have liked to have allowed more time to spend in the park looking at the different architecture. Good place to bring a book and people watch, enjoy the day.

No charge for the park itself or for some of the exhibits. There is a charge for some of the museums and the zoo. No charge for parking!
