GREAT ART for purchase and enjoyment!

Don't miss this great spot. Art for sale and enjoyment. What a great display of local artist. How fortunate that they are there to talk about their art.

The vibe here is Spanish for sure. There are a lot of small art galleries and mom and pop shops where are is created. I don't really "get" a lot of the art but I enjoyed checking it out. There's one shop where they blow glass, another clay spinning shop, one where the sculptures are larger that adult humans and... More

There are about 35-40 small art studios concentrated here, with artists working in most any media you can think of. Some are more of a gallery with a variety of participating artists displaying their work, while others are more of a single-artist studio where you can often see them actually creating. While you may not appreciate every style or piece,... More

Just visited this art center earlier this week, and was very impressed with the level of quality. Having visited a variety of art galleries in Zion and in Tucson last year, I enjoyed the variety of works represented in the Spanish Village, and also by the friendliness of the artists and their willingness to explain the process that they were... I didn't know this place existed, until a friend took me there. It is located in Balboa Park and it is a charming collection of shops, styled after a Spanish Village. There is jewelry, art, pottery, etc. I had a wonderful shopping experience and left with many treasures.

We wondered into the shops during a rainy day and decided to come back the next day when it was sunny out because we could tell it looked like a charming square. We were right. It is bright and colorful but soothing and enjoyable to see the many artists at work. We purchased a few items and really liked talking... More

This is a lovely setting in Balboa Park to find all sorts of hand crafted items from jewlery to pottery to paintings, etc. Many different artists and mediums and they are in house, explaining how they do their crafts. Some items are VERY reasonably priced and others have a higher price tag but all is original art in a lovely... More

It looked like an oversized playground on the pictures, but it turned out to be much more "real" and interesting, kind of like mini-Barcelona. It has its own unique feel and looks authentic. They sell great coffee and you may pause to watch local artists work or listen some street music. The shops sell interesting art pieces.

This area is near Balboa park and zoo, it's not wide range of souvenirs for tourists, just place for relaxing after long walk from the Zoo or Balboa park; however, its operating hours are quite short. If you have a short time, skip this place.
