Alcazar garden, one of many pocket parks within Balboa Park, is located adjacent to the Mingei Museum. It usually has year round flowers blooming and a wondrous water fountain that muffles the noise from the adjacent parking lot and street on the other side. This...More

Right now the garden only has its hedges. It's a small pleasant place but according to the website, the garden displays 7000 annuals. Not this week

This is a relatively small area near the centre of the park but is a gem of a garden, where we saw and took pictures of several humming birds.

Lovely garden in Balboa Park. A nice oasis in a busy city, great place for a stroll and to spend some time.

This garden is small. It barely merits a mention as it is part of the larger Balboa park and attractions in and around plaza panama. Its not like the Alcazar gardens in Seville. It is a nice little garden. Mostly useful if you have seen...More

It was a favorite of mine when I lived here 30 years ago. I would bring my children and it was a nice quiet place to play. They always loved the fountain!

If time allows try to sit down on one of many benches. This relatively small park is so lovely that its beauty deserves a few moments of our time. Nice flower arrangements, ornamental ceramics, little fountain. The landscaping of this place is remarkable.

A nice place to rest and take photos. The landscaping is lovely with the low hedges surrounding the plant beds. Benches in shady area dot the garden, so you can take a breather from exploring Balboa Park and it's many attractions.

It is a nice garden in a great area of San Diego and this garden tends to be lost in some of the other areas of Balboa Park and it could be better maintained but worth a visit if up at Balboa Park.

We wandered through here as part of a walk through Balboa Park. It's nowhere near as nice as similar gardens in Spain but it's a tranquil spot.
