In San Diego for a few nights post cruise so decided to book a seat at the local playhouse in Old Town What an unexpectedly wonderful experience the evening turned out to be. The play "Bad Jews" was presenting....as wonderfully acted as anything I have seen on Broadway or in the West End. An hour and a half of pure... More

Went to see "Seven Guitars" at Cygnet which was really well done by fine actors. Small venue with comfortable seats close to the stage. Friday night was beer tasting night out front for the early arrivals, and an actor question and answer session was held after the production. Limited parking, but patrons are allowed to park close by at the... More

Wonderful intimate theater in fun setting. Production choices and performance are very uneven - some shows are very good, some are a waste of time. We are subscribers for many years, and just as we decide to cancel, they come up with an amazing production! We hated Rocky Horror Show but loved "The Stupid F------- Bird". Check the reviews!

In less than a month I went to see the current production of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," twice. The first time was to check out the show as well as nostalgic. Very far back to my twenties, periodically, only on Saturday nights at Midnight, we would line up to watch the show inside as well as the one going... More

I've had the pleasure of seeing a few performances here, including an outstanding production of 'My Fair Lady' in March 2015 and a wildly enjoyable 'Rocky Horror Show' in April 2016. The venue is small, with just under 250 seats, but this is to its advantage. Every time I've been, I've always had a great view of the stage and... More

We saw Dogfight, loved the quaintness of the theater and everything was professionally done. Unfortunately, this play lazily followed what so many of their theater peers do, by falling on the "F" word, excessively to emphasize and dramatize, not considering it might be offensive. Too bad, it was a good play otherwise.

I often tell folks this -- that the Cygnet is the best theatre in town. And, it is. This year, at least. I've had a subscription to the La Jolla Playhouse for 25 years, and the San Diego Rep and The Globe for somewhat less. I've been with the Cygnet from their first year, 10 years ago. This House has... This is a wonderful theatre! Went to see My Fair Lady. Great experience! Theatre is in Old Town and is busy in the evenings. CalTrans parking area allows parking after 5:30 pm for free. Still within walking distance. They have snacks and drinks available there at the theatre and you are allowed to take them into the theatre as well.... More

The Cygnet Theater Company is situated in the heart of Old Town. There is ample parking in the parking lot under the freeway marked "Old Town Parking.) Quite a walk to the playhouse, but an enjoyable one as you walk through the streets of Old Town. Very quaint. Lots of shops and restaurants. There is also a parking lot near... More
