I attended previously at the beginning of the season, and as we didn't see any whales I was given a voucher for the year to visit any time for free. I came back and we saw hundreds of dolphins and three whales! The crew were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The boat also offers snacks.

People there really do a great job. The boring is that you sail for long, long time and do not see anyrhing. After an hour or more we sow dolphins.

Nice staff , but honestly trip should have been rescheduled or cancelled. When they tell you they had a sighting of a whale it doesn't necessarily mean you will see the whale. They have binoculars , and pretty much all you see if you're lucky is a spout. Glad we went on discount day. Majority of people were seasick. Staff... More

Thank you for joining us this month! We're thrilled that you enjoyed our staff during your trip. Unfortunately, weather and sea conditions are uncontrollable. We take the boat out in rain or shine and we do not cancel trips unless the conditions prove to be significantly unfavorable. We always recommend checking the local marine forecast before booking any type of... More

The announcer was great. Friendly and super knowledgeable. Not only was the tour itself great and we got to see a lot of different marine life but my wife and I also go super sick and they were so sweet and empathic about the whole thing. I'm sure they have to deal with it all the time but they acted... More

I have been on a lot of whale watching cruises and this one was excellent. Everything was with respect to nature but nevertheless showing whatever is possible. We saw a huge amount of dolphins and 2 grey whales, but even without the whales I would have enjoyed my experience a lot with the knowledgable staf. Highly recommended

I am sure SDWW is very busy year round, but don't count on them responding to you in a way that allows you to join one of their trips. I purchased a Groupon the night before and the message said that the trip was "not available yet" and to call in the morning. I made four telephone calls between 9... More

Hi Alicia. We are sorry that you had a negative experience communicating with the booking office associated with San Diego Whale Watch. Our reservations and day-time phone calls are handled by the company that owns the dock (our landlords at the marina, essentially), not a single member of our team. Although we cannot control their customer service standards, we will... More

We got to see grey whales during their migration and also a group of common dolphins. Always a great time. This was our second trip with them and we had a great time!

Nice day on the water, saw many dolphins, harbor seals, sea lions. Nice narration, friendly and very knowledgeable crew, Bring sunscreen, I was fried, though wearing a ball cap. The crew even fishes plastic trash flotsam from the ocean Starts from a very scenic small boat harbor across from Sea World. Groupon is available. If you liked this review and... More

Thank you for your feedback, Jess! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip and the dolphins. As with any nature tour, wildlife is unpredictable and although we make every possible effort to search for whales, it is always a possibility that there may not be any to be seen at a given point in time. We hope that... More

Our female Captain had the Privateer purring when we left the dock for the morning trip, then traveled out 7 miles from shore on a cool and very cloudy day. Saw 3 gray whales and had to stay attentive to see them - easy to miss, which several did because they were on the port side and the whales were... More

Thank you for the positive feedback! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your trip with us. It sounds like you were expecting more whales but spotting three individuals in one trip is actually pretty fantastic. Big, baleen whales do not travel in pods and the Pacific Ocean covers over 60 million square miles. Also, most of the species we spot on... More
