Canyon De Chelly Tours is an enterprise of Leon Skyhorse Thomas. Every guide is a professional, certified by the National Park Service by examination. In addition to tours of the Canyon de Chelly National Monument, cultural consulting needs are addressed on a case by case basis for those who seek a more intimate insight onto the Navajo Way. Leon has assisted film-makers on location in Navajoland and is used to delivering high quality services to the people and organizations he serves. There are over 2700 archaeological sites within the many canyons of Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Only 13 of the 700 standing ruins have been stabilized, re-inforced, or protected from degradation. We are professional Navajo guides who can teach you the history of our canyons and about the Anasazi, Hopi and Navajo peoples. We pride ourselves in offering you more than just viewing our scenery - but we can do this too!

HIGHLY recommend this tour! Being on the canyon floor is magical. Henry was our tour guide, and he gave us so much interesting background and info on the Navajo people, on the canyon, and on history. We enjoyed it thoroughly! We're so glad that we had this experience.

This was a great tour. A must do if you want to really experience the Canyon and to a look at the Navajo culture. Ask for Henry as your guide. His family history dates back centuries and he has a rare perspective on the culture as well as the history. Well worth every dollar. I suggest you opt for the... More

Canyon de Chelly Tours paired us with Reginald (Reggie) Etsitty who is more than a guide, he is a fantastic storyteller who brings the tour to life with Navajo history. Beyond just looking at breath taking canyons and formations Reggie wove the history of his people into the scenery creating a truly complete tapestry experience.

We loved our tour with Henry. The history he shared with us was in depth and fascinating. Very knowledgeable and personable and he shared some of his own family history as well. We rarely get guided tours, but this made the experience so much better. Highly recommended!

Excellent tour. Our guide Reggie was very personable and knowledgeable about the local history and geography, pointing out many interesting sites along the way. A Navajo guided tour provides a much deeper understanding of the local culture and is very worthwhile.

This was the best tour! Henry was a wonderful tour guide! His life experience and knowledge gave him perspective that made us feel connected to him and his cultural history. The open air jeep tour over the running water enhanced the the canyon adventure. We left awed by the multi thousand year history of the canyon inhabitants, the ruins, and... More

We had a great trip with Don of Beauty Way Jeep Tours through the Canyon del Muerto portion of the canyon. It was too early in the year (end of March), with high waters in the stream, to go into the main canyon and to see Spider Rock from below, but it was a very informative and enjoyable trip anyway.

We took the private tour with Henry - 2 adults and our teen age grand daughter. To say that it was incredible is a great understatement. The canyon took our breath away and Henry, a native from a family that has lived there forever, knew every detail about the place. I would say it is mystical ....... We took the... More

Richard is the guide to request. Very knowledge about the canyon, the ruins & especially the culture & history of his native Navajo heritage. He had as much fun learning about the history "not written in the history books" as being in the canyon itself. Ask Richard to show you the ladders carved into the cliff side. The canyon is... More
