Neither words nor my photos can do justice to how amazingly beautiful the views are from this road. So many colors and the big sky. Multiple ecosystems and elevations and different styles of rock formations. I cannot recommend this enough. The roadside information signs help...More

We planned our trip of the Mighty 5 for over a year and included Hwy. 12 as our connection between Torrey (Capitol Reef) & Bryce. The endless vistas, gorgeous scenery, sheer drop offs, Hell's Backbone ridge, elevation changes, quaint towns, Burr Trail road to an...More

Hwy 12 is a beautiful drive with great views we went from Torrey UT to Bryce, we drove our pickup with a 32 FT travel trailer, the road is very nice with ups and downs and can be narrow, we did not have any problems,

Torrey Utah is at one end of scenic highway 12 just outside of Capital Reef National Monument. The highway from Torrey heads South thru some unbelievable country. The road has very sharp turns and you are always going uphill or down hill on up to...More

The drive from Torrey to Bryce had a 20-minute period where I was nearly scared to death, HOWEVER, it was definitely worth it. This drive is nearly as scenic and awe-inspiring as the parks. Go slow, get off your devices, turn off the music, and...More

We took Hwy 12 from Canyonlands to Capitol Reef. We spent sometime in National Monument in Escalante. I loved the Visitor Center. The road is good and elevation changes are amazing. We went on two canyon hikes right off of the road. Enjoy the drive!

Took this scenic byway from Panguitch east on 12 through the Red Canyon, to Bryce Canyon City, to Tropic, to Cannonville, to Henrieville, to Escalante, north to Boulder, and Torrey. The elevation went from 7600 to 9300 feet, with changing rock formations along the way,...More

Should be fine, get a convertible. What a view! In October much of the State is shutting down between summer and ski season. Just be aware many restaurants, park lodges, etc. take some time off starting in late Oct.
