Beautiful views

Great drive from Escalante to Torrey. The terrain is unique and spectacular. Take time to soak in views. The road did sometimes have drop offs on both sides, but the shoulder was wide enough that it did not feel too chilling.

Views are breathtaking

Awesome Drive

We took this road from Capitol Reef to Bryce canyon and it did not disappoint. At one point you reach an elevation of over 9,000ft and the view is beautiful. There is tons of wildlife and some cool viewpoints. Pictures really dont do this justice.

Perfect drive between national oarks

We wanted to experience as many national parks and monuments as possible- and driving through The Grand Staircase Nat Mon was wonderful. It is a truly spectacular part of ur beautiful country.

Trying to fill in the last details of a Zion, Bryce, GC (in that order) trip for mid-September. After leaving Bryce, our next "hard" destination is the South Rim of the GC, however, we have the better part of two days and one night flex time in between. I would love to do a portion of the Highway 12 Scenic Byway. Is it worthwhile to simply drive a ways on it and simply do a u-turn and backtrack so that we could continue then down Rt. 89 towards the GC? Or is there a better way to spend this extra time?

It's about a 2 hour drive from Torrey to Bryce Canyon. You drive through some very picturesque areas and also some small towns, VERY SMALL TOWNS. Speed limits are reduced through these small areas. Amenities are limited... More

HI, am planning a road trip in October and hiring a Mustang...is this car ok to drive on this road. Ive read somewhere that 4wd are recommended but that may just be the "backways" thanks

Should be fine, get a convertible. What a view! In October much of the State is shutting down between summer and ski season. Just be aware many restaurants, park lodges, etc. take some time off starting in late Oct.
