We have been to Carlsbad three times over the last 40 years. What a difference time makes. The visitors center is really pleasant to be in. We took the Natural Entrance and Big Room self guided tours. We found that any of the ranger led tours needed reservations many weeks ago which does not allow for much wandering. We were... More

One of the greatest things to do in the area. Its cool inside and the views are amazing. You would never know the beauty until you experience it.

This has to be one of the most amazing National Park around. First, don't go during Spring Break long waits but still worth it. We took the elevator down and walked out. You really learn what shape your in. Make sure to eat before as food is scarce. We loved the different formations. The youth of our day need to... More

So glad we made the trip! We rode the elevator down and did the full self guided tour of the large room. It was a full 2 hours as we looked at everything. It was all amazing and we are still talking about it today. I can't imagine what it must have been like to discover these caverns in the... More

What an amazing site. We went on the tour to the lower level and well worth it. We also took a self tour of the large cavern and it is a site not to be forgotten. Would be a great experience for the children. Excellent sites

Went down into the caverns and it was beautiful. Everyone should see this once in their lifetime. It is a bit of a walk.

we went down the walking trail into the cave and all the power in the cave went out and it got very dark until the backup lights came on. we did not do the whole loop which I now wish we had, but it was still nice and we took the elevator back to the top. It is always 56... More

Traveling with a 4,6, and 11 year old. 11 year old found it interesting and wondered through. 4 year old was bored. For small town museum thought it worth the stop.

In the winter, there are not tours on Mon and Tuesday - but we took a self guided tour on our own and were not disappointed. The caverns are amazing! Everything was enchanting - except for one young couple who took 5 or 6 selfies at every turn. It did not seem as cold as we expected and we got... More
