Amid Manhattan's landmark skyscrapers, the small City Hall Park is like an urban oasis. This lush, pleasant green area offers a serene view of the Big Apple as well as a perfect point of respite while exploring the American city.

After crossing over Brooklun Bridge on a hot sunny day it is a relief to sit down in the shadows of this beautiful park afterwards and catch your breath.

Park benches to sit and they did have some sculptures/artwork to view in the park. Definitely not a must see but if your in the neighborhood worth a stop.

The City Hall Park is located well…just outside city hall. Ironically this is an idyllic spot as it is at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge walking path on the Manhattan end.
Visiting first thing in the morning to walk the BB at sunrise, the park was quiet and pretty peaceful. Getting towards the busier times of day, the benches get a bit harder to find but worth the wait for a spot in the shade.

Beautiful park, fountain and resting spot after an invigorating walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. In addition, there are lots of ice cream trucks and a Starbucks right across the street, so you can grab a cone or enjoy a coffee and pastry in the park on a nice day. Very clean and inviting, right in front of City Hall.

This is an impressive park that is close to the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s got some nice statutes and plantings in it. Recommended .

It's a good park, taking up a couple of blocks, big enough for a temporary art installation when I was there. Lots of people on benches relaxing. And there is a lot of great architecture all around to gaze at. Fun city space.

We came upon City Hall Park after our stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. It provided a wonderful addition to our evening, as we walked through the lovely green-spaces and past the beautiful fountain to our subway station on the other side. I highly recommend a visit.

I visited the park last Sunday evening 8/27 on a trip to New York and was disappointed to see that the gas lamps were not lit. I remember how beautiful they were the last time I visited back in 2003. Are they only lit on certain days?

Sorry, I can't help you with this. I haven't been in that area after dark in very many years.
