The bridge is very long, if you want to cross it it is better to use a bicycle. Good place for photographs, in fact that they have many stalls to buy souvenirs. (bring cash if you want to buy)

I walked the bridge on a Sunday morning before it got real hot. Had some nice views and not to crowded. On the Manhattan side a lot of folks selling junk.

Tons of street shops and people trying to sell you anything. The bridge is interesting and a nice walk. We were there and we did that. Walked half way over turned around and walked back. Pretty cool.

Me and my friend ventured here and tried to use the subway, We did ask the chap in the subway booth which station we needed to get off but he was not helpful at all - too busy eating his lunch. So we end up getting off the subway but at the wrong station - we ended up in Williamsburg, so walked and walked, which was really lovely as it gave us an insite to NY that we probably would have never ventured out and discovered. We finally got to Brooklyn Bridge and all I can say is, is its beautifully structured bridge and it wonderful to approach the bridge and see the NY skyline. Loved it and was one of my fave days out.

Big shout out to Hali for giving us an amazing room for my fiancé birthday. Thank you you are amazing! Big shout out to Eric! His vibe helped made our trip epic and was very helpful ! Y’all are great!! We enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful. We had a city view . One word, BEAUTIFUL! I think the people who gave less than 5 star reviews is super picky. The location is perfect. If you want an experience , stay here and explore what all Brooklyn has to offer! Btw we saw Kendrick Lamar! Epic!! Can’t wait to come back! Xoxoxo

We of course visited the Brooklyn Bridge - then we went under it LOL. Cute stores and places to eat. A lot of them close early (well early for NYC anyways) so go in the day or early evening not late night for the full experience and insta worthy photos.

Was a fun walk across the bridge to Grimaldis pizza. We walked down to the River front to see what was happening and there was a little dance party on the deck. So fun.

An NYC must. Walk across whilst taking pics, then drop into DUMBO for lunch or ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.

I took a walk across the bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn. There are quite a few vendors when you enter the bridge for about a fourth of the way there, but once you’re past it’s not quite as crowded. It’s a beautiful view as you get further away from Manhattan, very picturesque. The bridge itself is quite beautiful. If you have the time I highly recommend stroll across the bridge.

Do you walk both directions on the same walkway? Can you walk 1/2 way across and then turn around and walk back?

My personal favourite is to use google map, not only it gives you the direction but the train arriving time as well, hugely useful as you know New York train timing can varies especially if you missed the train
Qual o melhor endereço para tirar foto da ponte de Brookling? E poderia me passar o contato desta guia brasileira em NY?

Aconselharia ir a região do Dumbo, próximo ao Time out Market e ao Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Hi,
We were planning to take lyft/uber to DUMBO and then walking on Brooklyn bridge towards Manhattan. Is it possible to walk through the bridge half way through and then get a taxi from there to battery park? We don’t want to walk through the whole bridge. Kindly reply. Thanks in advance!

no. The bridge for walking is elevated above the roadway and the roadway is a highway where there is no ability to pull over unless an accident. You can rent bikes at either end and ride if you want.

We'll be driving up from MD to spend a night next to JFK before flying out the next morning and we'd like to see some sights while in the area. Would it be better to stop at the Brooklyn Bridge on the way to the hotel, or to go directly to park (free!) at the hotel and then take public transportation back to the bridge?
Also, from the Manhattan side, is it a long walk to Greenwich Village? Or is there something closer to see/walk around?

As a native NYer I would not try to park near the bridge. I would go to the hotel and take public transport- though it is a long ride.
Try this- from JFK take the A train to High Street and walk either the Brooklyn bridge or even better the Manhattan bridge which leaves you in Chinatown. Walking to the village from either bridge is doable but very very long.

Im staying in time square and thinking of taking the subway to Brooklyn and the walking back across to Manhattan and the 9/11 memorial
Which is the closest station to the bridge in Brooklyn and approximately how long will it take to walk
Many thanks

This is exactly what we did:) The others have given you good advice. We used Google maps to navigate the subway. Hit the little microphone symbol and then tell it "current location to (wherever you want to go) the Brooklyn bridge". Then select the transit choice (vs car, bike, walking). It will give you step by step instructions starting ]from entering the closest station to you (even which corner to enter) which trains are an option and how many stops there are. Once you get to Brooklyn the bridge is huge. Just walk towards it. We asked a police officer. He gave us a scenic route and a direct route and a great pizza place recommendation...Antonio's. When we walked in May heading towards Manhatten bikes occupied the right or NE side and pedestrians the opposite side . Watch those bikes (especially if you have kids)...they go really fast. Time will depend on how crowded it is and how much you stop to look and take pictures. Once you make it back to 911 memorial area use the new Oculus station to catch a train "uptown" to Times Square. Again use Google maps to pick train etc. We bought a one week Metro pass for 30.00 bucks plus 1.00 fee. Its easy... just go into a station to the machines. Follow the instructions or ask. There were plenty of friendly people willing to help:) It was our first time visiting NYC and the subway was a little intimadating at first but we quickly adapted. People were very willing to help so just ask if you are not sure what to do. Learn downtown means towards the 911 area and Uptown means towards Central Park/Times Square area. Have a nice visit.

From Times Square you have a lot of options to get to the bridge. Walk to 7th and take the 2 or 3 and get off at Clark Street or walk to 8th Avenue and take the A or C to High Street. The walk should take about 1.5 to 2 hrs taking into account people traffic and sight seeing. I definitely recommend checking out the promenade on the Brooklyn side before hitting the bridge to walk back to Manhattan tons to see and eat.

Realistically, how difficult will it be to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan with 2 kids in a wagon on a Sunday morning? Is a pull behind wagon to big and bulky?

We are two people in our mid 70's and did this walk with ease. We did this on a weekend and it was busy, but whenever it got busy we just stopped and took in the views.
