After a visit to the top of the rock, we enjoyed a look around the Rockerfeller plaza. The centre has a good selection of shops, restaurants and cafes. We enjoyed watching the ice skating and the filming of a movie too.

Rockefeller Center is the hub of midtown activity. Visit the tree or go ice skating during the winter or enjoy a sandwich in the Channel Gardens when the weather is warmer. High end boutiques and restaurants are plentiful.

I've visited here a couple of times and I can honestly say it's one of my favourite places on Earth. Ok, it's just a nice building and some shops, but it feels like the beating heart of NYC and - being an Art Deco fan - it's fantastic.

We came upon the restaurant in the concourse by accident and we're so glad we did! It was more expensive than the deli s but sitting there watching the skating and eating and drinking from china instead of paper and being waited on made such a nice change. Would definitely recommend this.

You can't go to NY and not go to Rockefeller center . To hang out and watch the ice skating or do it yourself is such a NY experience it shouldn't be missed

Visited during recent visit to NY and was surprised with how much was to see and do at the Rockefeller Centre. If you want to see the Manhattan Sky line you can go to the Top Of The Rock, go Ice skating, visit NBC studios and catch the starts entering and exiting the building, catch a show, go shopping or... We went there three times, including day time and night time. You can find some famous people skiing there. The square itself is very beautiful.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
