They were required when I was there in April, but the Web says they are optional on Broadway beginning July 1, 2022. I would still check the theatre(s) where you are planning to go.

It does not cost anything to visit Times Square. The $41 per person cost that they are referring to is if you click on the SEE TICKETS button just below where it says Admission Tickets for a couple of those attractions that require an admission cost.

If you like the style of Hard Rock, its a fun place. Bubba Gumps would also be a good one. Carmines Italian is also right on TS and it's a good place I hear.

I like #1 for a few reasons - namely NOT trying to deal with the crowds in the streets which is bad enough on a normal day in NYC but is sure to be really stressful and as someone mentioned in an earlier comment, bathroom accessibility would be on my mind but I suppose the crowd and other concerns depend on YOU and you alone and your ability to navigate those situations. The room with a view party allows you to be there and feel that excitement with a bird's eye view but less the cold and confusion. I also like the cruise idea because I love cruises anytime and that sounds like a great way to ring in 2020! Have a great time whatever you decide.

would not recommend parking there. Very expensive. Park somewhere else and take the train in. Driving is a night mare too even if you're a local.

NO estoy familiarizada con el tema ,estuvimos el 31 hasta el medio dia y vimos que cortan los accesos de las avenidas linderas que lo rodean ,desde muy temprano y solo los que tiene el acceso o se alojan por ahi pasan .hay controles por todos lados si lei que habría pocos baños y obviaamnete pierdes tu lugar si te moves .podes conseguir los pases pero podrían ser limitados llegado la fecha del evento ,otras opciones son ir la costa y los piers para apreciar los fuegos de artificio. la Diferencia con nosotros de Argentina , es que es muuy frio para estar a la interperie y En navidad y ano nuevo puede ser blanca ,pero hay gente que lo hace igual y soporta el frio o lluvia haciendo el sacrificio por estar allí . Es toda una aventura yo no me anime a extender nuestra escala de 3 dias de nueva york por eso nos fuimos ese mismo dia a nuestro destino final y no el 1 o 2 .incluso por la tarifa del hotel en nN.Y del mismo 31 que era realmente elevada nos fuimos esa misma tarde a un hotel en Rivera maya . festejar el anos nuevo en un all inclusive calor musica y comida sin tanto sacrificio familiar ,sino relax.Pero es Verdad vivir N.Y balanca en peno espirutu festivo ,fue inolvidable ..SUERTE !!
