You have to visit if in New York, plenty of places to eat and plenty of street entertainment, lots of Disney characters walking about to pose for photos but you will have to tip each one that poses with you. Try avoid on Black Friday!

It's maybe the biggest tourist trap in the world, but visiting it for the first time on our first trip to NYC was great. It was fun to walk out there at night, see the ball, all the lights, and everything it has to offer.

Worth a walk around, especially at night, but it's mainly tourist shops and touts. Good to walk through on the way to somewhere else.

It is the epicenter of NYC. I went both during the day and at night and even as a country boy never felt uncomfortable. Even though cliché this is an absolute must if in town.

Times Square is loud, fun, busy and just plain wierd. You'll see hello kitty next to Elmo next to iron man next to the Naked Cowboy. It is people watching at its best. Find yourself a spot on the bleachers and take it all in!

Just walking through the throngs of people soaking up the atmosphere makes one feel alive. The different accents and languages, the lights and sounds of times square is a most do experience for any person that appreciates the great diversity of American culture. An all time favourite of mine.

Before my trip to the place dreams are made, Times Square was one of the pit stops I was most looking forward to. I'd seen it in the movies, if seen it on the small screen and now I was going to be there!! I could barely contain my excitement, the lights, the celebrities, the flash mobs...but to my disappointment... More

We went at night which was a great time to go to get the full effect. It was unbelievably bright. It's not at all what I expected. It was big, but not like what I feel like it's portrayed on TV. I was not a fan of all the beggars and street performers demanding money. The stores were awesome. I... More

It was my first trip to NYC and the first place that I went to was Times Square! You should definitely get a picture clicked on the red stairs!

I had driven through this area during the day and it was impressive. But, walking through at night was AMAZING! This is really one of those bucket list items.........the feel of this city is right in the middle of Times Square.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
