    Great venue for comedy
Fun night out at the Gaylarious LGBT Comedy Show. I’ve been to maybe 5 shows in this series and they never disappoint. The venue is nice and the drinks aren’t too pricey (I love their mudslides). Good time out

    fun enough
we had fun, wasn't expecting much. there were about 8-10 comedians, none fantastic but good enough. we had gotten free tickets via Eventbrite (also check Groupon). we knew about the 2 drink minimum but thought it not cool they add in the gratuity and another "fee" and a charge to use a credit card. 3 waters and a rum&coke cost $40. I guess they have to earn enough to pay the rent, etc...

    Enjoyable evening out!
This was an unexpected treat - a really good night out - we both laughed a lot!! Thanks to William for convincing us to visit ... Highly recommended! Some of the reviews seem to state that the drinks were a bit of a rip-off, but they were no more expensive than any other place we visited while in NY.

Great experience but go with the right mindset
I really want to counter the string of one-star reviews on Google. Some people just don't have the right mindset for shows like this. Obviously don't expect big names for club gigs. If you're used to comedy festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe, you'll feel right at home! In fact I sincerely hope to see some of this guys (/gn) again there. As for the 2 drink minimum: this is communicated clearly and handled politely. Ok so it will add another 20 to your expenses, so what? Where else are you gonna get 2 hours worth of atmospheric entertainment in Manhattan for 40 dollars per person? I went by myself, had a lovely chat with people at my table and with the comedians at the door afterwards as well. You create a big part of your enjoyment during a club comedy lineup gig yourself. Point of criticism to staff: the restroom floor guys... doesn't need to be that sticky I'm sure. Just mop it between gigs ok, it'd go a long way 😏

    Fabulous!
Really fun night out. The venue is a bit of a dive, but that actually added to the night in a strange way. Two drink minimum seems to have upset a number of other reviewers, but we had a couple of drinks and had a lot of laughs, what's not to enjoy!?

    Not very comical
Bought the tickets from a legit vendor in times square for $15 a ticket. ( face price 30 a ticket ) told us, the comedy club was just up the street, “right over there” he pointed to 53rd. That was fine, but once you get to 53rd, the club is between 8th and 9th. Bit out of the way from actual Times Square. Knew about the two drink minimum. They do add on the gratuity. there is another line for an additional tip, so be aware. Show was not funny. Seemed like each “ comedian” had very similar acts and lines. Couldn’t even understand one of them! Two out of the seven were a bit funny. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Will definitely search out a different comedy club next time

    Gambled and lost
One gambles when one goes to a comedy club, but you expect the standards to be higher when it’s so close to Broadway, and for the price of admission. I lost my gamble, dramatically. Not only are you expected to buy two overpriced beverages per person, but they force a 20% gratuity onto the bill. There were six comedians. Four of them were below mediocre and lacked stage presence and uniquity; two were pretty good. The last guy was the best (of course). The MC had great energy and worked the crowd quite well. The venue lacks in comfort and aesthetic. I recommend to try Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village and avoid Broadway.

The worst! NEVER AGAIN! I feel totally ripped of! They promote with some big names but you get some terrible rookie comedians. After the 4th that didnt made me laugh i left. They say the venue has the famous brickeall but it looks like its falling apart and probably got rats. The show is in some shady dark musty basement. And they force you to buy 2 drinks, i paid 16 dollars for 2 bottles of water. After 30 dollars for the ticket! Waitress was rude and kept asking every 5 min to buy my 2nd even though i left early i had to buy 2. Nobody was helpful or even friendly. DONT GO HERE!

Having paid 50 dollars for this show we arrived about 30mins before show and first impressions were not great a tatty looking frontage gave way to even worse interior. We were informed at the door we had to buy a minimum of 2 drinks per person.
I picked up the drinks menu only to find that on top of buying 2 drinks per person there was additional 18% service charge. I told the waiter I didn't want a drink he rudley informed me I had to at which point I lost my temper and left. It's not the tight as I have drunk in more expensive aces in New York I just didn't been told how much I should drink and I don't like added service gratuities as I believe in tipping according to service provided.

We love going to comedy clubs and had a fantastic time on our previous visit to NY when we went to Comedy Cellar. This club, however, was the worst comedy club we've ever set foot in. We have far better quality clubs in our small town in Southern Oregon!! We had 5 stand ups that night - only the last one was good and funny. MC was decent and tried his best to cheer up the crowd but the stand up line up was so bad one after another that often nobody was laughing and the room was quiet and we kept looking at each other in disbelief. This is the comedy club on Broadway? It felt like it was a community amateur gathering that terribly needed encouraging and support from the supportive community, but only this wasn't and it was EXPENSIVE: $25 admission each, two drinks minimal per person. Having to spend about $100 for this kind of LOW quality show was infuriating - such a waste of our time and MONEY!! This was definitely the lowest point in our NYC exploring.

Had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly while the MC was funny and kept things moving smoothly. There were 5 acts which were both entertaining and funny. The admission fee is very reasonable but there is a two drink minimum. There is a good selection of drinks which are very reasonably priced. For a fun event, give this place a try! Highly recommended!

We recently had a very disappointing experience with a comedy show ticket purchase, which I feel compelled to share. Last night, around 11:50 PM, we bought tickets from a reseller in Times Square for a midnight comedy show, excited for what we thought would be a highlight of our New York visit.

However, upon arriving at the venue, we were informed that no late-night shows were scheduled for that time. This was not only confusing but also frustrating, as we had just secured tickets for this specific show. The staff suggested we attend the next night’s show, but this wasn't an option for us due to our travel itinerary.

This experience significantly impacted our evening plans, and we felt let down by the lack of organization and clear communication. The situation was a stark contrast to the vibrant and reliable nightlife we had experienced in the city so far.

I would advise others to be cautious when purchasing tickets from resellers in Times Square, especially for late-night events. It's a shame that what was supposed to be an enjoyable part of our trip ended in such a disappointing manner.

I have reached out to the club in hopes of a resolution, and will update this review with any updates.
