Scott's Pizza Tours runs public and private tours of New York's vast pizza landscape by bus and on foot. Every tour stops at multiple pizzerias, each highlighting a different phase in the evolution of the dish from its humble beginnings as a street snack to its current position as New Yorkers' food of choice. Guests get a slice at each stop and are guided through the kitchens and back rooms of the city's most significant pizzerias.

I recently took the pizza bus tour and I am so glad I did. From the moment that we met Scott I knew that this was going to be a fun day. Scott is very humorous but also shows such passion in his knowledge of pizza. You learn so much about different types of pizzas, how they are made, how... More

We did the Original Crosstown Pizza Walk with Miriam as the guide. Not only is Miriam fun, she is truly a "sommelier" of pizza ... trained and uber knowlegeable. She guided us through three stops, each using a different approach to how the pizza was cooked (coal-fired, wood-fired, and pizza oven) and helped us evaluate the different sauces and cheeses.... This is a must do while in NYC, the guide we had (Mike A.) was terrific. Went to the North Village this past Sunday. Went to three pizza places and got slices at each one, explains the history of pizza and gives you a booklet to write down your experience. A lot of fun and a different tour. Small group... More

A really FUN FUN day! What everyone else says, who gave it 5 stars. We went for my mom's 76th birthday - total blast. One of the kids (lots of adult grandkids in our group of 8) had been on the tour twice before, and still didn't get enough. Scott is a natural, quick witted, knowledgable, and very funny and... Booked well in advance....Wound up touring in a Flash Flood Warning Storm. There was not a single dry stitch left on any of us. But the pizzas we tried more than made up for the drenching. (I would HIGHLY suggest that Scott add some great big red umbrellas to his team. I would have HAPPILY advertised his tour all over... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
