If you want to walk from Manhattan to Dumbo without all the pedestrian traffic of The Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge is the bridge for you. You still get great views of the city and the Brooklyn Bridge as well. On the Dumbo side of the river there is a path that takes you along the edge of the water... More

Almost no one on this bridge compared to Brooklyn bridge, so a much calmer, quieter visit. You are lower down than on Brooklyn bridge so you can really only see the view from the side of the bridge you are on, so choose carefully or go there and back. Views of the bay are less good if you're wanting to... More

We decided to do this as a walk. There were a lot of People due to a Nice sunny day after some Heavy rain. The view is great as soon as you get onto the bridge and the skyline of Manhattan becomes awesome before half way. Also a great view all around. Added some photos as the speak better for... More

It's a bridge, but nothing special in my opinion. It's overshadowed by the Brooklyn Bridge, which is far more spectacular.

Great to walk across for the Manhattan Skyline. I downloaded how to get onto the bridge from each end that was helpful. We went from Brooklyn to Manhattan, to get the best views, but you can go the other way.

.We saw this bridge from a number of angles-across in a bus, under in a boat and from the shore line. it carries an incredible amount of traffic and is well worth a visit.

This bridge carries an unbelievable amount of traffic to and from Brooklyn. Views from it are impressive. Can be very congested.

Nice in its own right. If comparing it to Brooklyn bridge then it loses every time. If you have the time then definitely go on this.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
