    ICONIC AND MANIC
Primarily in Midtown, the area is both frantic and mesmerising at the same time. A relatively easy 20 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal and well worth the effort to get there to soak up the ambiance. My wife and I visited New York for two days as part of a larger trip and really enjoyed the opportunity to visit Broadway. The number of big show events is staggering.

This diagonal street crosses much of Manhattan and takes you through many neighborhoods. One recent excellent change is the creation of little plazas that are closed to traffic right in the middle of big intersections. Chairs and tables and you have an instant cafe in the middle of a lot of activity. Brilliant! Check out Herald Square.

    Busy, busy, busy
We came here a couple of times back in June to take in the overall atmosphere and all the billboards advertising the latest shows on this famous part of Manhattan. It's all pretty busy here at most times of the day. In the evenings you have theatre guests milling around as they move to the shows they decided to see. I went to the Golden Theatre earlier in the day to see if they had any of the advertised cheaper seats to see Jodie Cromer in Prima Facie. They hadn't... I, for one, found the ticket prices ridiculously expensive. But that didn't stop my son shelling out on a ticket to see the Lion King at the Minksoff theatre. He enjoyed this musical immensely and even bought some of the merchandises. The streets around here are bustling with many street vendors selling fast food, drinks etc. All very lively.

    Fantastic!
My partner and I went to go and see Six whilst staying in New York. I absolutely loved it! The music was fantastic and the girls were extremely talented. It is not your typical theatre show as there are not any prop/costume changes. However, it is really fun and an easy watch musical. I thoroughly recommend and I would happily see it again!

Broadway is a road you automatically associate with Times Square and theatres. Indeed it bisects 42nd Street and this is where Times Square is located and it is in the theatre district but the road goes much longer. It starts in Union Square further South and goes to Columbus Circle and then up the Upper West Side to Washington Heights. There are lots different things to see as you go along the road depending on whereabouts in the city you are.

Do not forget a Broadway show!
We were able to see a Sunday matinee of Wicked, and caught a Tuesday evening showing of Lion King. It was spectacular. My children are 8 and 11, and did very well. Both are family friendly. I would say Lion King is better for a child's first time with a Broadway show, but my 8 year did great with both shows (preferred Lion King). I have previously seen The Book of Mormon by myself. Broadway is an absolute must if you are traveling to NYC. There is nothing that screams New York to me, than this area. The shows are fantastic, the talent and costumes phenomenal. It's a dream come true.

    New York's Theater District
Broadway is the busy thoroughfare that cuts diagonally through Midtown Manhattan passing through Times Square, Herald Square at Macy's and near the Empire State Building and ends at Union Square after passing by the much-photographed Flatiron Building. However, in truth, Broadway describes New York's theater district as many of the best-known theaters in town are located on or near the street. Taking in a Broadway show is a must-do experience when visiting NYC.

This was an enjoyable museum to visit and a great way to spend a couple of hours before our afternoon play. That said, the cost was much higher than it should have been ($46 vs $30 for MoMA for example). Would also like to see more interactive displays and more videos of performances.

The music is classic and amazing. The orchestra was perfect. The set designs and choreography were well done. The sets are mainly led but perfect for this production and added to the show. Sure to win a Tony for lighting design. The cast was great and Tommy was perfect. Just a perfect night of theater.

This is a very good musical: an adaptation of a mythological story interpreted in quite an original way and dealing with modern issues and human struggles.
Beautiful music, lighting and creative use of the stage with moving platforms. Wonderful cast!

We thought it was well done and certainly brought attention to that part of US history. Kind of a female Hamilton style. Great talent in key roles. Enjoyed the performance.

The circus acts were amazing. Storyline followed the movie and not sure which was a better rendition. Good, but not great for our week of Broadway musicals.

A good musical though expecting more. Had just seen ''Hell's Kitchen'' and was blown away. Poor comparison in a short time frame.

This show is absolutely wonderful! We were a group of nine and we all fully enjoyed it. Nick Fradiani is terrific as “young Neil.” All nine of us commented on how emotional we were at the end of the show. Some of us even were moved to tears. This is one you don’t want to miss!
Our only complaint was the theater. No elevator and tons of stairs. And the worst part is the seats. All of us ranging in height from 5’2” to 5’11” sat with our knees locked and pressed into the seat in front of us. It was horribly uncomfortable.

Really great performances
Very much enjoyed ourselves (myself, my wife and 17 year old granddaughter).

Tremendous energy, and dancing, huge wit and super singing performances .

I confess all six are fab performers however Catherine Parr is my favourite - even though our granddaughter goes to Kimbolton Castle (now a school) where Catherine of Aragon was isolated after her marriage to Henry ended.

Don’t miss this musical - going to make a point of seeing it again when back in London ….

Many thanks Six cast and musicians!

Standing ovation at the end was very well deserved ..

A nice tribute to Neil Diamond with some of his best music. Like many of the visits to Boomer generation singer success stories, Neil's storyline provides more depth than his songs portray. Worth the ticket.
