Get off the subway at South ferry walk across the road into the ferry terminal. Have something to eat, a coffee or a beer. Ferry goes every 15 minutes & it's free. Enjoy the views off either side to either Brooklyn or New Jersey. Get...More

This is a great way to see skylines and Statue of Liberty! On the way out sit on right. When returning sit on left. That way you will be on the Statue side.

We travelled on the Statten island ferry which was great. We were told before we got on the ferry that we wouldn't see the Statue of Liberty. This is NOT true. We had a great view both going out to Statten island and coming back....More

A great way to see the Statue of Liberty & the New York skyline! The trip takes about 35 minutes each way, very relaxed & little or no queuing - at least when we went on a Saturday! We didn't venture away from the ferry...More

Free boat trip to Staten Island. You can see Manhattan skyline from the boat and that is awesome. On the way you can see Statue of Liberty too. Travel on the evening, then Manhattan looks great (like always). I recommend to do this trip.

It was a nice experience but the ferry did not really go close to the statue as stated in our guide book. Not much to see on Staten island suggest running around the catch the next ferry straight back.

As it was raining heavy we decided to take the Ferry, what a bonus. Although it looks like hundreds run to get on the ferry, it accommodates everyone. The photo opportunity to shoot the "Statue of Liberty" was great. And on the return we just...More

The Station Island Ferry was a pleasant way to spend a couple hours. But when you get to St. George just stay in the ferry terminal and return to to Manhatten, don't bother going into town - very depressing.

I presume you could there are plenty of staff aboard there to help the gang plank on to the ferry is over wide so it'll be sufficient to accommodate a scooter of its kind

The weekend Ferry runs about every 30 minutes on the 00's and the 30's, so your longest wait will be 30 minutes. You can find the schedule on the NYC DOT website. Don't fret over the amount of passengers waiting, there is... More
