    My kids loved it!
Well worth the trip over there. Every kind of candy you can think of. Including European candy that I am a huge fan of. Best thing is that the price was very reasonable compared to many in the city

Not exotic, but bursting with candy for a good price
Fun candy store, though not exactly what I thought it would be. It’s in the name, so I should have known better. I thought this would be more about exotic/unique/unusual candy or candy from other countries. And there were a few things, such as lays potato chips from Asian countries. And there are some novelty treats, like gum packets with fun sayings on them, or the baseball card gum from my youth in the 80s. But a lot of this is run of the mill stuff, but conveniently packaged in on place. Jelly belly, lollipops, various types of fairly mainstream chocolate. A lot of hard candy and suckers considered “grandma candy.” Things like mints, butterscotch. But it isn’t about fancy or exotic. If you’re looking for a large, affordable selection to please the masses, this is your place. Next I’ll check out one of the cities specialty exotic candy shops.

    Great vintage candy
Economy candy is a great, vintage candy store in the Lower East aside of Manhattan. You can find every candy imaginable there, new or old. I highly recommend giving Economy candy a visit.

    Candy store of my dreams!
This store has it all - vintage candy, specialty candy flavors from popular brands, bulk candy, imported candies & chips, and more! If you like candy - this is the place, and the prices aren’t bad either. I picked up a nice little haul of goodies but I’ll definitely be back on my next visit.

Life may be sweeter for this...
I've been to Economy Candy a number of times and if you're visiting NYC, make sure not to miss it. It's like stepping back into your childhood as you walk through that candy land. I had pre-ordered some candy which I was picking up today and decided to grab a few more items. As I turned around, I noticed that the line had grown incredibly long. Yamilex, who had just given me my order, noticed my dismay (I was on my way to tutoring and in a bit of a rush) and was able to ring me up on a portable device. Now that is what I call exemplary customer service! Thank you Yamilex - much appreciated! You rock! I highly recommend Economy Candy! I'll definitely be back!

A family run business in NYC, FANTASTIC! This Candy Store is fully loaded with Candy from everywhere. Be prepared to spend alot of money, not because of the prices but the massive wide selection of candy. Selection of merchandise available too. This Candy Store is full of history

The moment you walk through the door of this pleasure palace of the candy world, the word "overload"will probably spring to mind - not only ‘overload’ because of the vast volume of candy which occupies every inch of this store, but ‘overload’ because of the voluminous amounts of sugar it represents. It’s a sight to see, and a bit of a New York destination to be honest, tucked away on a nondescript commercial / residential street in the Lower East Side.

It’s often regarded as the oldest candy store in New York City. It’s been around since 1937, so will be celebrating its 85th birthday. It’s still run by the grandson of the person who saw a business opportunity all those years ago. It’s floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall candy, more than 2,000 varieties. It’s authentic, with a huge collection of vintage candy which will be familiar to its American visitors (though a little lost on this British Australian). You’ll find licorice to chocolate, root beer barrels to jelly beans, Hershey’s Kisses to gummy worms, and Jordan almonds in pastel purple, pink, blue and yellow. Shelves and tables groan under the weight of innumerable stacked cartons of chocolate bars and licorice, hard candies and Pop Rocks.

Add to all of this you have containers of nuts, and candied fruits; there’s also an international section with candies from many countries of the world. There’s a smattering of familiar sweeties from the UK, and an unusual collection of goodies from Japan, including varieties of KitKats not seen anywhere else. I didn’t see anything form my own homeland of Australia, though there probably is.

The store is crammed with candy from floor to ceiling, from tiny bags to huge bags weighing many pounds. You’ll need to take care as you manoeuvre around the store. It’s tight, especially for those using mechanical mobility assistance.

Its worth a visit, but watch your sugar overload. Delancey Street Station is probably the closest subway station.
