We had a great and interesting tour of Greenwich Village with our guide: Renne Rewiski. She was informative and knowledgeable. We enjoyed free tours by foot in many cities like SanFrancisco, Boston and Washington. We recommend those kind of visits to our friends and family!!

Fantastic tour and more than I was expecting. It was unusually hot last Friday and our tour guide (Nydia?) made the most to make the tour as comfortable as possible particularly making the explanations in shaded areas which was highly appreciated. The tour was almost 3 hours and I got to learn a lot not only from the Village but... More

Wanted to surprise my mother for her 70th birthday, we booked a tour with Renee. Have to say it was the best tour we ever took of the Greenwich Village! Renee is simply wonderful, funny & so full of knowledge. My girlfriend had been on a tour with Renee some years ago and when she saw that it was with... More

We took this tour with Jon, who was both entertaining and well-informed. He shared a lot of truly interesting details in addition to covering the major sites. He made an effort to connect with members of the group, and we would highly recommend any tour with him.

Arranged this following seeing it online. We were guided by Eric who was very knowledgeable and took time for all on the tour. Big group was the only down side with over 20 on this walk. Be prepared for any weather so take a jacket to be sure. One of the best ways to uncover the history of the city.

We have been taking advantage of these free walking tours throughout our travels and they are seriously such a good way to get to know a city. We did the soho tour with Tyler Marie and had a blast. Tyler really managed the group well, kept a nice pace and personalised the tour with her own recommendations and stories throughout.... More

We did a two-hour tour of Soho, Little Italy, and Chinatown with Erik. We met in Soho around 9:45 AM. The night before, Erik had sent us an email explaining how best to get to the meeting point, which was helpful because we were still figuring out the subway system, and his directions were very clear. Our group was a... More

Did a 3-hour tour of Downtown Manhattan with Eric and it was a great experience! Eric was a cool guy and an excellent guide. He told us plenty of plenty of interesting stories about the city and its residents plus I got to try 2-dollar Chinese dumplings. And the best part? You get to pay whatever you feel like at... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
