Great cause, great content, great prices, and great service. What else could one want? I'm writing this review mainly to remember to come back.

Housing Works Thrift Shops can be found at various locations in NYC and Brooklyn. I have visited three, all of them were neat, clean with no musty odor. Items are nicely displayed and prices vary (they except major credit cards.) All proceeds are used to help HIV/AIDS. Good Luck

I found a wonderful designer purse for forty bux here. Clean store, nice staff, and well organized. clothes, shoes, furniture, mens, womens, books. Not a giant selection, but a good bit of stuff to choose from.

I loved Housing works and donated lots of stuff to them to them. I always looked around when I was there and over the years have bought lots of interesting things. Lately, when I browse through I am astounded at the prices they are asking for used (often damaged and soiled) goods, Very sad to say that it is a... More

I have been to a few of these stores all over the city. They tend to be much smaller than most thrift shops but have good quality of items and priced accordingly. I got lucky and got there during the spring sale with everything 50-75 percent off.

I just spent 2 hours waiting for the store on 96th and broadway, nyc to open, planning on buying a large rectangular glass panel. I was 2nd in line. but when i went inside the panel was nowhere to be found. i had expected it to be up front since it was a new item coming on sale, which is... More

I have not been to their stores and after my experience as a donor I am reluctant. I made an appointment for a pick up for furniture (and smaller items) and when they did arrive (late) they took about five percent of what was promised leaving me with a whole host of furniture and small items I now have to... I love this thrift store. It is on my way home from work on Broadway between 96th and 97th streets. There are senior and student reductions on Tuesdays, and this store receives new goods every day. The shop looks completely different every week. Book shelves, sofas, desks, and other furnishings that are interesting as well as useful. I've seen a... More

The title says it all. A small-ish shop with an excellent selection of very good quality clothes at reasonable prices. It may not be the cheapest thrift stores around, but certainly the best value. When we visited, there was even a 50% off deal on clothes. There was a small but good furniture and china section, books, CDs and sundries.... More

My sister and I have been travelling back and forth to New York City for years. We grew up there and pride ourselves on knowing some of the best thrift in New York, but we will no longer be shopping at housingworks like we used to. First, they have not just raised prices, they have tripled, if not more just... More
