The theatre itself is great and I've had good experiences in the past, but the usher we had for The Humans was rude and nasty to EVERY person she had to interact with (about half of our side of the theatre. A bit of training on guest relations might be nice, since I heard someone say the usher at the... More

We are regular theatregoers, both on our trips to NYC and in the U.K., and whilst we chose this play because of the awards it had received, we had no prior knowledge of the story. For us it was one of those evenings that you remember, well acted, believable and with a message. We were in the stalls, our seats... More

This afternoon we saw The Humans at this medium-sized Broadway theater. The show was just ok, and touched on one of my pet peeves about NY theater lately, that mental illness is played for laughs. I do not think that there is anything funny about that, but the audience laughed at each line. The theater is old and the seats... More

My friend and I saw a show at the Schoenfield. We sat on the Mezzanine level - four rows back - great seats. The mezzanine seats are leveled in such a way that you have great views from all rows and there was ample leg room. However, we were disappointed by the cost of drinks at the bar. I ordered... More

The Grand Schoenfeld Theatre is grand as in grandeur however actualy a mid size theatre (seats approx 1079). This beautiful theater previously known as the Plymouth Theatre is adjacent to the Booth Theatre. Designed by Krapp to resemble the Booth and Shubert theaters, Schoenfield was built around 1917. Home to the Pirates of Penzance, Dial M For Murder, It's Only... More

The Humans won 4 Tony Awards including Best Play and Best Featured Actor and Best Featured Actress in a Play so we selected we went to see it on our annual trip to NYC. It is a family drama set in a NYC apartment over Thanksgiving. The acting seemed to be like a local playhouse and throughout the play there... More

The Humans play was very good, like a slice of any family's life. The theater has very long stairs to the second floor and very little space between seats.

The Humans, currently playing at the Schoenfeld Theater is a story of a typical middle class family's Thanksgiving dinner. The play runs 90 minutes and does not really tell a story. The parents bring the grandmother who has Alzheimer's to dinner at the younger daughter's new apartment in Chinatown (in NYC) which she shares with her older boyfriend. Their older... More

The Humans tells the story of a brave family facing physical and economic crisis at Thanksgiving at their daughter’s newly rented Manhattan apartment. It is a finely directed and acted drama that features a religious mother who places religious icons everywhere she can, as well as a new-maybe-son-in-law who over-analyzes the world while waiting to come into his inheritance. The... More

My husband and I have been to this theatre multiple times. It is an older, smaller theatre which is perfect for feeling like part of the show! (Though for taller patrons it may be a little hard on the knees) We saw American Psycho here just this past weekend and the acoustics were awesome for such a dance party soundtrack!... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
