There's no better view of the Manhattan skyline than the one of the downtown area- as seen from the Staten Island/North Shore Promenade, just steps from the Staten Island Ferry.

While it's tempting to visit NYC without seeing the whole skyline, it is well worth it. I took photos from Liberty Island and from Brooklyn Park Bridge. The best time is at twilight as the lights come on in the city.

a trip to Central Park is fun and great exercise. also visit the High Line on the lower east side. Fun and fascinating and absoletely free!

I would imagine you have a buggy/stroller for your little one. So would suggest: Get a travel card for the subway. You will get your money's worth. Staten Island Ferry - Free, and gives best views of Statue of Liberty... More
