Had an awesome evening! Husband and I enjoying first visit in nyc and had booked to go here before we'd even arrived as we wanted to do something different from a Broadway show. I was a little nervous that this might be quite a seedy evening (I've never seen burlesque before). But as soon as we arrived i was put... More

My partner and I visited the Slipper Room on a Wed night and saw the Glitter Gutter show. It was hands down the funniest show I've seen. The comedian was brilliant, I haven't laughed that much in years. The burlesque shows were great and loved the magician, again, absolutely hilarious. We got there at 9.30, waited until the earlier show... More

This was not a glamorous, upscale burlesque show. But it is a priceless experience for its bawdiness, satire and sexiness! I literally lmao at times and had open mouth jaw at some of the acts! Great to do as a couple or with a small group. Get there at least 1 hr before the show to get a good position... More

My wife and some friends dragged me here after dinner one night and I was a little hesitant. I didn't know much about the show but it was an absolute riot!!! We haven't laughed so hard in years. We saw the show "the glitter gutter" Drinks were strong and cheap comparatively, I do recommend purchasing a seat in the front... More

The show was Ok. It Wasn't like a burlesque , it was more like what you see at a men's club, you know girls shaking their booties, etc. didn't see any real talent. We thought the Duane Park was more entertaining. Overall just Ok for the price.

There are people who come at 800pm and hold seats for their friends. So unless you plan on getting there at 800pm for a 930pm show plan on standing for the whole time. They will serve you watered down alcohol drinks. We arrived at 830pm and when we asked the manager about why they were allowing seats being held without... More

We were 4 girls travelling together and the Slipper Room was our first night out and it was a BLAST! Worth spending the extra $10 to get the reserved seating... you get a table somewhere in the front and we also each got a little gift bag from the Pleasure Chest, with a few 'adult gifts.' ;) The staff was... Just wanted to throw a quick review on here for one of the most funny, intimate and awesome venues I have ever been to. Certainly the best night in NYC. A real mixture of locals and tourists but with some comedy performances which blew my mind. They really are a talented bunch of people working on the show here and... More

So we dragged my friend here for the end of a bachelor party expecting a fun time. We knew what burlesque was, but nobody in our group actually saw a show. This was a great time. Even though we got tickets for the late night show they let us in earlier to see the other show (word of advice, get... More

Went with 5 other people for a bachelorette party, as the brie had always wanted to see a burlesque show. We originally were going to try and get seats upstairs, but when we got there we were told there was a private party and we had to stay downstairs. Not a huge problem, but it did get crowded. Mainly standing... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
