Some rides have TOO many people in this small little car, wish they would limit it, because it gets so packed its uncomfortable, otherwise great views of the bridge.

Quick ride and pretty views around sunset and night time. We had unlimited metro cards so this was basically free for us. No problem bringing our little dog on the Tram with us. I was afraid some of our party wouldn't like it because they're afraid of heights but it's not that high and the car feels stable so we... More

For the price of a subway train ticket you can get some of the best views of the city. The tram ride takes approximately 5 minutes and with views all around is definitely worth a trip.

NYC treats this as if it's just another bus ride. It's run by MTA, and you use the same MTA cards as you would for the subway. Since the Island is mostly residential now, it's largely used as a commuting bus by local residents. But don't be fooled! As a tourist, you can't find a more unique and scenic trip.... More

You can use you subway card on the cable car to visit Roosevelt island, its not a must do but its nice to take the ride and see the city from a different angle.

i think this is a very unique little fun thing to do & see while traveling to nyc. I rode this several times and gives you an interesting viewpoint of the bridges and viewpoints of manhattan. My friends and i have often stopped at Serendipity 2 as well afterwards just for fun.

Visited here a couple of days ago as I'd read that the views over the city were stunning. Unfortunately everyone else must have read that as well because it was full of tourists as well as the locals, so we didn't get as good a view as we'd hoped because of the self sticks. The view one way was restricted... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
