If you’re in New York City take some time to take the aerial tramway to Roosevelt Island. It’s great to see NYC from the tram and the island is like another world. You go from the noise and bustle of the city to the peace...More

For approx $3 you can enjoy great views of the city from above (during your 5 minute ride) and from the side (once you're across on the island). As for Roosevelt Island itself, there is not a lot to do apart from look at the...More

The tram is a very cool way to get to Roosevelt Island and gives you awesome views of the city, if you can catch a spot by the window. The trams are quite large, and you could get stuck right in the middle with no...More

Went for first time and had no idea how, where, when etc.. and the person in the small cabin was super friendly and helpful. Basically, you buy a Metrocard outside at the machine, put 2.75 for a single trip of double for a round trip...More

The Tram goes to tiny Roosevelt Island for the cost of a subway fare. I found this activity at the last minute and we decided to try it out. The girls (12 and 13) loved the quick trip on the tram. We went on a...More

The tram sure is better than the subway for transportation. When visiting Roosevelt Island this is worth the use of your Metro ticket, but do not make the tram your destination. The tram is roomy and it does provide you with a view of the...More

The tram is inexpensive and covered under an unlimited metro card also. The views across the East river are phenomenal. There’s really not much on the island but you can walk right around the tram gates and enjoy the ride in the opposite direction. There’s...More
