Travelling to Roosevelt Island by Roosevelt Tram is the best option for better aerial view of the area. Roosevelt Island itself is the best place to hang around with. And the cost for travelling is the same as Sub Way

OK, so you're going to be disappointed in Roosevelt Island as it turns out to be one big residential community and one tiny light house. The old insane asylum ruins have been completely torn down and new construction is now taking place on those grounds....More

With a MTA pass you can ride high in the sky over the East River , walk around if you like on Roosevelt Island or just return. Great views from a different angle.

Found the aerial tram while walking in the area - what a great find! For the cost of a sub-way ticket, it was well worth riding it. The views of the river & streets were great, great for photographers. Being the 4th of July when...More

Nice views. Nothing to see in the island though. We took the tram and then had a walk along the river. Came back in half-hour or so. You can use metro card to pay, and bring your bike.

There is little to the tram. You ride across the East River and unless you live on Roosevelt Island, there is nothing to do but get back on the return trip. This is not an attraction but simply transportation. Save your money and enjoy watching...More
