Take a stroll along the river

You shouldn't miss this park, it's near Central Park, also designed by Frederic Law Olmstead, but unique perspective on residential life in the city.

Riverside Park has miles of walking trails with beautiful views of the Hudson River with New Jersey on the opposite bank. One of the most beautiful walking trails is the Cherry Walk which is located between 100th and 125th Streets. This is spectacular in the spring! The walking paths are relatively quiet so this is a great way to get... More

It was good to be back, even if only for one sunny fall afternoon. The park is never crowded, but there are enough people for it not to feel deserted. You can walk for miles and enjoy the changing views. We used to live just a block away from the park and were grateful to live so close to nature... More

Long waterfront park in a not so busy area of the city. Great views of the river and New Jersey while jogging or taking a leisurely stroll.

This park might be not as famous as the Central Park, but it is a wonderful part of crazy busy Manhattan. Walk down the park and enjoy view of Manhattan and Hudson river.

While I love Central Park, sometimes we just don't want to deal with all the tourists. Riverside park on the west and Carl Shulz park on the east side are great alternatives peaceful spaces to commune with nature and enjoy being outside without all the noise, crowds and car horns.

I love Riverside Park for so many reasons, not least among them its eponymous location - riverside to the gorgeous Hudson River. You can walk and walk with the river on one side and green lawns on the other - many of them dog-free zones so it's safe to sit or lie down on the grass - yay!! And at... More

Had a remarkable walk along the Hudson River here and took along a sandwich and viewed NJ and the GW Bridge.

A very long neighborhood park alongside of the Hudson river. Super in spring with all the blooms and flowers, cool in summer with the shade trees and the Hudson breeze and beautiful at sunset. Mostly locals hardly any tourists!
