Really a treasure to have a stable in the city! Great place to take a trail ride if you've never ridden and perfect for beginner lessons too! Very inexpensive. I've been riding here for years. As of most recently I've been working on my canter on my lessons with instructor Darya and a few amazing horses. I also always suggest... More

As a Brooklyn resident, I was surprised to find out that there is a stable a couple of blocks away from our house. I asked around and heard that the place is horrible, but since our trainer was away for two weeks (both my daughter and I ride Hunt Seat Equitation in Long Island) I decided to see the stable... This place is a hidden gem, an old time escape from the hustle of Brooklyn. The stable is tucked away a few blocks back from Prospect Park. We booked over the phone and arrived to be fitted with our riding helmet and to meet our horse. They offer a western style saddle (best for beginners) or a European style (best... More

The man who was on duty when I contacted this stable was so rude that I decided against trying to ride there. I would not recommend contacting this place if you want to be treated with respect. After reading earlier reviews about people falling off their horses, I'm glad I decided against riding there.

I came across a review called "No Control" by Billyjoe0820 and it jogged my memory that I had been to this stable in September 2007 for a birthday treat to myself. I was shocked to see that SEVEN YEARS LATER this stable was still chaotic. The horse I rode threw me twice. Once when we were leaving the stable, we... More

I ride western every summer, I would say i'm fairly experienced. i chose kensington stables because they offer western riding, which is hard to find in the city. when i called to make an appointment the man on the phone was VERY rude, but i was still going to give them the benefit of the doubt. when i arrived for... In case you're pressed for time, I'll give the summary first: a) I hope stable manager, Sam Sam, is good with horses. She certainly doesn't seem good with people. b) Kensington Stable's phone service representative was apparently not knowledgeable of the business's practices, as what he told me was entirely different from what I was told when I got there.... The instuctors were awesome. I forgot their names but they were very patient and I kept adding more time because everyone loved the beautiful hoarse and pony.
