Tried to surprise wife with something romantic and ran across the Gondola ride. It was great. $45 for half hour. Gondolier was great. Did some tour guide stuff about Central Park and sang a little. Going around the lake you're a celebrity. Prob more because the other boats are self rowing and you are getting pushed around while you relax.... More

I grabbed a chocolate filled scone and hot chocolate at the little cafe inside, and it was the perfect start to my morning in Central Park! It was really quick, cheap, and casual, I sat outside while I ate. They had quite a bit to choose from, and they switched from breakfast to lunch at 11am. This is separate from... More

This place was recommended to me by friends whose taste in food is usually good. The first thing that comes to mind when you go in is OTT. Tables are set with linen cloths, flowers and cutlery and the waiting staff wear striped ties making it look a bit like an exclusive club. I would class the welcome as professional... More

A great way to look at Central Park but rowing on the lake instead of strolling in the park! We went there Thursday afternoon (Easter Week). There was a line getting in but it moved fairly quickly. The rental price was ok for a family of 4, just $15 and hour plus $20 deposit (you get it back if you... More

Timeless place in Central Park. Of all the great food to choose in New York. This is one worth the wait. The french toast was excellent!

I often go here to meet neighbors for Friday afternoon cocktail hour and some outrageous food. I also come here with friends fir weekend brunches. Another wonderful thank by to do you s to take a row boat out with grandchildren and row around the Water. A great family outing and then lite dinner in the boathouse.

I had the twin hamburgers and my wife had the Halibut special. The Halibut was well prepared but weak on flavor. The hamburgers, while receiving rave reviews from the waiter, was generic at best. The service was almost good, just a half step off what it should of been. The table tops are particle board, covered by double table clothes,... More

The Loeb Boathouse is a really touristy place, but nonetheless was actually a pleasant experience. The view of the park and the pond is beautiful, the service was polite (albeit a bit slow), and the food was decent to good. I recommend the crabcake appetizer and the fish and chips for a main.
