The Duplex is the epitome of Greenwich Village. While the piano played in the background ,we sat outside and watched the locals and travelers a like walk the streets of the Village. While sipping our drinks we were approached by a wonderful transvestite palm reader...More

What a fun evening. The Duplex piano bar is just a great place to spend an evening. Being on Christopher street in the Village, it is a decidedly gay venue, but even though I am a straight person I felt very comfortable there. The cocktails...More

If you love lively, colorful piano bars, this is the place for you! There is a main level with the piano, and a lounge upstairs. Very intimate setting. If you want a seat, recommend coming early to get a seat. If you are ok standing...More

Talk about a small intimate room! Seats 74 packed shoulder to shoulder but makes for much fun when you don't need a big crowd to rock the joint. Wait staff apparently not as friendly as upstairs but they got the job done.

The Duplex is a bar downstairs, and becomes a magical cabaret theater upstairs! Amazing talent can be found at their shows. The wait staff is efficient, professional, and friendly! I have been both a performer AND an audience member, and its homey and comfortable. It...More

We bumped into Duplex unintentionally but we were amazed! How those guys can sing! Wow! They surely know how to have fun!

A fun bar! Lots of tables, and different areas to hang out. Full bar, obviously two floors, and lots of fun people. Drinks were decent, but priced for the area. The place was fairly clean with a nice atmosphere and good club music.

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to

How does the open mic work? Like do you book or is it a spur of the moment thing? Also how often do they do it?

Anybody can request to sing. You just write what you want to sing on a napkin and give it to the pianist.

We have a group of 5 adults. We can't attend on a night there's a scheduled cabaret show, but should we make reservations for a table on other nights? Can we even do that, and if so, how? Thank you in advance!

It looks like more of a come as you are place, but I'd check the website regarding possible reservations. Also, there's been live music, every time we've been.
