Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

An evening with my wife for a 60th birthday holiday in NYC. This was a sunset I will remember for the test of my life.
Absolutely breath taking.

Pretty quick entry but not so dynamic since we had been up in the World Trade Center observatory the day before which is thirty seven floors higher.

Memorable experience. From the beginning to the end. You can see both sides of Manhattan (north & south) from the top. You can’t miss it

Although the view was amazing at 8pm the staff let this visit down. We missed the photo opportunity we could have bought as staff shoved us down the line to watch a video about a Tv show. It was disorganized, all kinds of nationalities were criticsed by staff for not being in right place when the instructions and staff were not clear. I won’t be rushing back. Empire Staff by far was better

I visited on a Sunday afternoon pre sunset and it wasn’t busy. There’s 3 open air viewing decks over 3 levels with each one offering even better views than the one before. The top level doesn’t have a glass safety screen so the views across the city both uptown and downtown were incredible. I preferred this to the Empire State.

was a last minute thing with lots of standing in queue the voucher purchased on line (which negated buying it on line) and then given a time slot. Then more queues to get through their security then on to endure a 10min video presentation of some of the history (which was okay but there only to delay getting to lifts) You guessed it - another queue there before finally getting into the lift to the top. Views were spectacular and not disappointed at all although there isn't much to do once there so plan 10mins there seeing the views and 50mins in queues to do it. Would return but try to get there early to avoid queuing perhaps. View was spectacular, queues were not and, for the price, a bit excessive in my opinion.

We visited during the day and thoroughly enjoyed the site. You are able to step out to a viewing platform which was great.

Hardly any queues, wonderful staff and amazing views over NY. Definitely worth the money. The sunset timing we choose was amazing - I can highly recommend it

I wanted to book the VIP tour ticket online but there were issues with the online payment. Eventually I bought the ticket from a customer representative via my hotel's concierge contact and the representative promised to send me a confirmation email after payment went through. I never received the confirmation email and have paid for the VIP tour ticket. My hotel's concierge had to go with me to the ticket booth at the Rockfeller Centre to get my VIP tour ticket but then the tour ticket was issued for the wrong date and the ticket booth cannot change the ticket dates for the VIP tour on their end. The entire experience was terrible. How can VIP tickets be sold and the ticket booth can't assist with issues relating to VIP tickets? When a customer paid for the product, then the confirmation email should be promptly delivered. If you want to market and sell a product as VIP, then the experience cannot fall short of being excellent especially when the VIP ticket is expensive.

Definitely worth the money and would recommend going up the rock so you can see the rest of the city attractions and sights. Its well organised and managed and did not feel busy considering we went over the new year period.

I am planning a visit in June and about to purchase tickets for TOTR- bringing 14 yo grandson. I have been before but never at sunset. Sunset is due around 8:30 on the date I’m planning. If I buy for 7:30 will I get in close to that time so we can enjoy the daytime views? Suggestions please.
Bonjour, quelle est la meilleure application (App) pour se procurer à l’avance des billets d’entrée dans les différentes attractions et bénéficier d’économies sur les droits d’entrée?

Hi all. I’m travelling from UK in a few weeks and want to book Top of the Rock. The COVID info on their website states about fully vaccinated people being able to visit. The only Issue is that it doesn’t list the Pfizer vaccine in their list of approved vaccinations. Does anyone know if you can still visit if this is the vaccine you’ve had? I’ve also tried to message the call directly to find out, but with no luck.
Thanks.

They accept any vaccine at the door. It’s just a quick check. I wouldn’t worry about it. We just used a photo of the card on our phone and it was no problem. And it was Phizer. Have fun!

Has anyone has issues purchasing their tickets on Tripadvisor? On the actual Rockefeller Center website tickers for (Top of the Rock) are $38. Not sure who I should order through. I also was wondering with the general admission do you have to walk up all the stairs to get the top three roofs? Are you able to get on the top roof with the general admission?

TOTR gives you views of ESB Time Square, Chrysler building and Central Park. Queues are fairly quick at TOTR. It's a difficult one because World trade tower is novel for it's own reasons. You'll visit the contemplation pools, maybe do the Statten Island Ferry and view the Statue of Liberty at that end of the Island. When I'm next in NYC I will go up 1WTC just because!!

We went mid morning and went straight through (and bought our tickets at the same time). Once up top there is so much room that it doesn't seem crowded. There are three levels.
