Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

    Smooth, sleek and incredible views!!
Def recommend this to visit for some iconic views of the NYC skyline. Also means you get the Empire State Building in your photos and when we visited we could see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Plenty of benches to sit down on and take in the immense views. We found the entry system very slick with no queuing and all the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
We're so glad you had such a great experience with us! Thanks for taking the time to review us and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Best view in New York- great for groups
The best view in New York and such incredible staff that made the experience even more special. We were a group of 17 students and 3 adults and every member of staff was so helpful, kind and happy. From our tour guide Micah who was hilarious and made us giggle throughout the tour to each member if the security team and top of the rock staff who were helpful from top to bottom including Sharnell and her team. A huge thank you and a must see for anyone visiting New York. Definitely the best to go at night to see the whole city lit up- we went at 7pm for our tour and were at the top for 8pm. Do not miss!
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review after your visit! We will be sure to pass these kind words along to the wonderful team at Top of the Rock. Bring your whole group back soon, we'd love to see you again!

    Best view in New York!
Truly the most stunning view in NYC! I absolutely loved my visit to Top of the Rock where I got to experience the most beautiful sunset. Crowd control could be improved, especially at busy times as moving around got difficult and exiting the viewing decks was a nightmare. But truly such a special experience!
We're so glad you enjoyed the views! Thank you for this constructive feedback, we will pass it along. We hope your next visit is even better.

Breathtaking view and the kindest staff
I had a layover at JFK and decided to get a first glimpse of NYC. I only had an hour to spend in Manhattan and I'm so happy I spent it visiting Top of the Rock. The view was breathtaking and Danny and Erica at the entrance were literally the kindest and super helpful, they honestly made my day! It wasn't too crowded and I loved that you got the 360 view and could see the Empire State Building. Will definitely go back next time I'm in New York.
We are honored to have gotten the precious few moments you had in Manhattan! We'll make sure Danny and Erica get your message and we can't wait to welcome you back.

    Amazing views
Amazing views of Central park and Empire state building. You can see the views through a glass or go higher and see views without a glass wall. Be prepared for a que when going up or down for the elevators (10-30 minutes)
We're so glad you like the views! Great advice for our future visitors. We hope to welcome you back soon!

    Outstanding Views…not very organised.
An absolutely amazing view - the best i’ve seen in New York and a beautoful location. However the queueing system was a joke considering how quiet the attraction was - there was a lot of unecessary walking around pointless tensabarrier queue systems that could have been opened up and made more accessible. Initiative rather than staff standing around doing nothing would have been advantageous. We needed to leave urgently, however we were told by an employee that we had to queue for a photo first and couldn’t jump the line. We simply wanted to go to the elevator and head downstairs - but the employee didn’t show empathy and may as well have been a robot. This put us off returning as we felt trapped and herded.
We're sorry to hear about some of the negative aspects about our attraction. We can appreciate where you're coming from, it can be difficult for us to be prepared for the slow times and the busy times all at once, not knowing when things will pick up. We will pass this feedback along. Have a great day!

    Spectacular views
The views from the Top of the Rock were breathtaking, an amazing way to see New York. Staff were efficient and friendly. A must see when in NYC! Sadly the toilets on 66th floor were disgusting at the time of our visit.
We're so glad you enjoyed your visit! We appreciate the feedback and we will be looking into this. Thanks!

Not cheap, but a must do…
As anything else in NYC, the trip to the top of the Rockefeller center is not cheap. But it does deliver. Thus view is in my opinion the best observation deck view there is in NYC: nice direct line of sight towards Empire State and downtown, as well as all other direction. Taking stunning pictures is easy here… staff is quite unfriendly and very directive.
We really appreciate this review! Thanks for taking the time and we hope to welcome you back soon. Have a great day!

    Great Views!
Visited during the busiest week of the year-between Christmas and New Year's. Ordered tickets online w/a fast elevator to the top to avoid the lines (more expensive, but well worth it this time of year). Opened ended time on the tickets, so we timed it to be there a little before sunset to see the city in the daylight, at sunset, and all lit up at night. Everything went smoothly except for the annoying young women who hogged the very front of the top on the Empire State Building side. They stayed FOREVER taking the same selfies over and over and over. Luckily, we had a pretty good view, but not so for others. We left and went to a lower deck and when we were leaving that deck, the girls were still in front of everyone (and still taking pix). Most people take a few minutes to enjoy the view, take a few pix, and then have the courtesy to move and let others enjoy the front row view, too. I wish workers had been up there to help w/situations like that.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. We're glad to hear that your experience was mostly smooth, but we're sorry to hear about the aspect that took away from the overall experience. We will be passing this review along to management for further review so that hopefully your next visit is a 5-star experience!

    Good views, horrible staff
The views were spectacular after sunset. 50% of the employees are very nasty and try to be funny by embarrassing the guests. You’d think that a NYC attraction such as this one would train its employees to treat the guest better, considering the cost and travel for many of us.
We're sorry to hear about this. We are passing this feedback along to management. Thank you for taking the time to write this review, have a wonderful day.

Great views completely spoiled by terrible organisation and incredibly long queues, especially to get down. It is taking hours just to get up and down, a waste of my time and money.

Having been to NYC 3 times I can’t believe I hadn’t been up here before. The best views in New York! The new beam ride, was a little bit overrated, it’s just about getting the photo more than anything, but fun nonetheless. So glad I finally went up!

Danny W .was so informative and helpful to me and my brother. We were so grateful for educating us about the area and the history that’s apart of the upside down building. Thank you so much for your professionalism and hospitality.

We had the go city passes which didn't have a recommendation to book like it did with other attractions. Google also said it was less busy than usual. We arrived at around 3pm and was told 7pm was the next available slot. We couldn't hang around so missed out this time.

Whilst there are some fantastic views from here (perhaps one of the best in NYC) the Beam experience was a nightmare. Either pay for an express pass or don’t bother. If you are in the regular queue, even in low season, expect to be waiting at least an hour to get on. The staff were at one point just letting fast passes on and we heard mention of a VIP as well so for over an hour the regular queue didn’t move at all. Then when it was time to come down, you have to queue to get on the elevator. Having waited around 15 minutes and finally got to the front of the queue, the whole queue was told to turn around and get on another lift. Those at the front of the queue were now at the back - great! Those at the back were propelled to the front. Absolutely shocking organisation. That said the views were fantastic and the Beam would be worth it if the wait wasn’t so long. Very disappointed with the organisation of this exhibit. The only reason this has scored 3/5 is because the views are phenomenal.

This observation deck was absolutely fantastic! But what did disappoint me was the fact that the beam wasn’t available when we went even when we saw others on it. It was such a clear day and it has a view all the way round the building which just made it even better! And to top it off and make it even better, we saw David Beckham!!! Anyway, this was a great view point and would definitely recommend.

The experience was somewhat spoiled by the amount of people at the top. The views are great but it was difficult to get a good view and even moving around was uncomfortable. Queues down were also slow moving.

Great view but overcrowded elevators. They were not very busy and there were 18 people in an elevator. Staff even told people to take off their backpacks to fit more people in an elevator. Just confused why an elevator would need to be packed when it was not busy.

Did the beam at Top of the Rock and so glad I got to experience it! I am terrified of heights and nearly got off after being strapped in. Massive shout out to Farade and Eddie for keeping me calm and talking me through it so much so that I actually enjoyed it. Such lovely guys!

Great views of the city - I actually prefer the views from TOTR than the empire state - although both should be done. It's a busy attraction - but very well organised.

Make sure you book a specific time in advance.
