Coming from the UK we wanted an authentic American jazz experience and this is certainly what we got. There is nothing fake, commercial or pretentious about this place which is very hard to find as a tourist in NY. The atmosphere, venue and of course...More

Hugely talented musicians, classical jazz tunes and some original work, extended and thrilling jamming - a loss if you miss this. In the 20s and 30s this was a speakeasy featuring among others Billie Holiday. Bill and his wife set up the club in 2004...More

Great music at Harlem's Speakeasy jazz venue. Book early to experience some true jazz in a seclude venue. BYO drinks and glasses or plastic cups please.

Not sure what I expected from Bills, but the reality was far more than I dreamed. Bill's is an old speakeasy in Harlem where Billie Holliday was discovered back in the 1930's. Today you bring your own bottle and glasses. The venue has the appearance...More

We really enjoyed this intimate setting, two rooms of the downstairs home of the owner. The jazz was great, best we heard in Harlem. No food is served. You can bring your own drinks. Bill Saxton is a great saxophonist. The night we went the...More

The place is small and tight but the music is fine and full of light. It is serious jazz with Bill's magical touch. Enjoyed every minute of the one hour performance. You can take your own wine.

The host of the evening can call you a cab or you can hail a cab from either corner of the venue. It's not difficult at all.
