The bridge is about .7 miles long, well lit for taking a stroll in the evening. If you are on a bike the bridge is a good starting place to peddling the loop, about 20 miles to downtown and back on the NLR side of the river. Stop for lunch in the river market.

My wife and I have hiked this bridge several times. It is especially stunning at sunset. It is connected to the Arkansas River Trail system so you can walk/run/bike all the way to the Clinton Library in the east and Pinnacle mountain in the west.

It is very scenic and has saved untold millions in flood damage. The Arkansas River always looked muddy. Now the Lakes between the Dams are full of fish and are great for boating and pleasure craft. It carries barge freight from the Mississippi River to Tulsa, OK.

Big dam bridge was a great place to meet with friends and get some exercise while walking our dogs. There were restrooms, poop disposal stations, water fountains, and doggie water fountains in one area of the trail. Nice views of river, woods, and meadows. We also saw some deer, as well as a couple of rabbits. We walked for about... More

This is a nice hike across the river at any time of year. We've hiked it many times and will go back again.

Big Dam Bridge is one of our favorite weekend destinations to walk our dogs. on hot days, there's a cool breeze off the scenic Arkansas River. We share the walkway with kids, bicyclists, skateboarders (the dogs don't like skateboards, though), and lots of other dog walkers. We start on the Little Rock side of the bridge, cross to the North... More

The bridge makes a nice easy walk. It's about a mile from the parking lot on the LR side over the bridge to the NLR side; and a pleasant walk if you continue another mile + to Burns Park. Views from the bridge are lovely.

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon walking at the bridge. Bit windy near the shores but well worth the drive for the view of the river from mid bridge.

Walked the river trail along the river, fished awhile with kds, had a nice picnic lunch on one of the many beautiful spots, that are along the bike, walking trails. Pretty trees, plants and animals roaming around. Then we walked over the big damn bridge, quite exhilarating to stand at the top and look down over the edge. Just a wonderful... More
