This is the largest ruin in the park and was the largest Great House in the valley. A lot of this Great House has been excavated and you are able to walk through a lot of the site. If you can take a ranger lead...More

Seen one Ruin, Seen 'em All --Pueblo Bonito is the One to See... We were pleased we could enter some of the structure too. Not sure if the rangers or the archeologists are more than clueless about the life of Chaco peoples.

Good place to start your Chaco experience--we recommend taking a Ranger tour, or you will miss much of the significance of the location and position of walls and windows.

Pueblo Bonito is the largest of the ruins and an absolute must. We took the ranger-led tour, but I would suggest just doing some reading and study and exploring on your own. The ranger talked too long and showed too little. Be sure to know...More

Pueblo Bonito is the largest of the great houses in the Chacoan landscape. It was the center of activity and of the Chaco peoples world. There are ranger led hikes, or one can walk through on their own. An interpretive brochure is available at the...More
