This is a beautiful show presented against the backdrop of McKelligon Canyon. It is a high action, fast paced musical tribute to those from the Native Americans, the Spanish explorers, the Anglo settlers and Cowboys and they assimilated through battles and peace over the past centuries. This is a fantastic show. It has changed a bit over the years, but... More

Viva El Paso is a high action performance about the history of El Paso. The setting is in a beautiful little canyon with the mountain as a backdrop. Gorgeous!! The performance tells the story of 6 flags that have flown over Texas and trail of the "Pass to the North". There were a couple problems with audio so it made... More

I grew up in El Paso & have been to at least 5 Viva El Paso shows. Having the performance in the mountain is wonderful, beautiful scenery & doesn't compete with city lights/noise. I am a sucker for theatrics, so the acrobatics, cannon fire, & ending shot with an Indian shooting a lit arrow to the mountain to illuminate the... More

Located in a canyon in the Franklin Mountains is the beautiful setting for this local tale of the Native Americans and Spaniards who settled in this pass, El Paso. The entertainment is provided/performed by locals from schools, college, and community. After reading several of the previous reviews I want to point something out: the presentation changes from year to year.... More

Went to this show a couple of years ago with church friends. It was good acting and nice to be out in the mountains and watching a show under the stars. It showed how the Mexicans and the native Indians we integrated in el paso area.

Viva El Paso is a worthwhile evening out - a good pageant of El Paso history - although too long a show, which could start earlier as well and end at a more reasonable hour. The finale features JFK, Reagan and Bush, which has nothing to do with El Paso as far as I know. I hope this is revised... More

This performance was so much more than I expected. I can tell that a lot of work was put into its production. Viva El Paso is high energy and educational. Their use of the canyon backdrop made the experience feel like it was indoors. It is definitely a family event suitable for all ages. I recommend it to residents and... More

This ampitheater is uphill on the East side of the Franklin Mountains and accessible by a narrow paved road, made safe because you cannot go fast, by either motorcar or bicycle. (I've done both) on performance nights, motor vehicles are the mode of choice, and it is crowded. However, it is extremely well-worth going to, a rich re-enacting of 400... More

If it's a beautiful evening and you haven't been before, Viva is something you should see. However, it has declined in quality over the years to include, among other things, some poorly done comedy. Originally the emphasis was on the beauty of the Canyon and a history of the region. Now, in an attempt to change it up, they've included... More
