The Ventura County Museum has long been a favorite. Their featured exhibitions change often and are always well done. Newly remodeled, the museum is beautiful. The added meeting/conference space is a gift to the community. Special events there keep us coming back. There is always...More

For a local, small town type of museum, this is a lovely building and grounds and does a wonderful job of the exhibits it gets. It would be nice to get some of the more famous items that its northern neighbor in Santa Barbara gets,...More

or grand children. Enclosed, so it's safe from the street. Areas just for the children. It's not so big that you feel overwhelmed. Good exhibits and the docents are very knowledgeable.

My last visit was as a volunteer for World Ocean Day. This museum is in a convenient location (on Main Street across from Mission San Buenaventura). And afterward, you can walk to the beach (4 blocks away).
