We live near the park and it is a beautiful place to drive through, often see deer and wild turkey out in the fields in early morning and evening. Taking the time to go to museum and stop at the signs and monuments will give you a great history lesson on the battle fought here as well as a feel... More

The Museum that contains the Fuller Gun Collection is worth seeing. I also enjoyed driving through the Park and stopping at the various Monuments. You can go into the tower and climb the 136 steps. The view from above is great. I bought the recorded CD for the auto tour and got off track so it was a little hard... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of The Chattanooga Military Park with Civil War expert, Rick Manion (White Star Battlefield Tours) as our guide. Rick did a wonderful job of providing the necessary background information about the generals, politics, conditions, and topography to make these five pivotal battles come alive. Because the battles are spread around Chattanooga and... More

All of the Civil War Battlefields I've visited seem to be so well maintained and offer so much information that I could spend hours there learning new things that books don't tell you. Chickamauga is no exception. There are always so many personal stories and seeing artifacts and the actual battlefield with the terrain you only read about, well it... More

We've brought family here twice now. Great little visitor center which is like a museum. Easy driving tour to follow. Great sites to see, a lot of information available. Good photo opportunities.

We have just discovered military parks in our travels and have enjoyed visiting them. This one is very large and has several areas to visit. So nicely done. So much to learn. I believe this was the first military park that was created in the NPS.

I live in this area so we visit it often. We love walking in this park and there are many trails. Trails that are easy and others that will challenge you. They also have trails that horses and bikes can go on. Or can drive around to see the various areas. Some areas are only accessed via walking but they... More

I drive through the park going to business meetings when I'm in the area. I have visited many monuments, stopped and watched the deer and reflected on what the monuments stand for and all that have died in that park. It's always peaceful and serene and a morning drive through fog is usually my favorite time to drive through. The... More

Had been to Chattanooga Battlefield Park, but not Chickamauga. It has a remarkable visitor's center with extremely knowledgeable staff. Was able to precisely identify where my Grt Grandfather's unit marker (35th Ill Infantry) was located and gave us some really valuable information. The movie about the battle in the center theater was excellent. Wish we had more time to investigate... More
